Female personal hygiene items being
collected for area students

COSHOCTON – When Amy Stone found out there were
young girls going to school without the personal hygiene
products they need, she wanted to find a way to help.
After reading on Facebook about a collection a woman
did in Heath to help students there, she decided to try
one for the Coshocton area. Now through Jan. 3, Stone
will be collecting donations of tampons, pads, fragrance
free cleansing cloths, panty liners, and Ipsy bags or oth-
er small bags that are similar to them.
“The Ipsy bags are cute little bags,” Stone said. “It’s a
makeup company that sends you a bag every month
with makeup. The bags will be used to put the donations
in. A lot of teachers are having to pass out items to stu-
dents, but these can make it more discreet.”
Donations can be dropped off at Shelby Theaters in
Coshocton and Haarman’s Pallet Treasures in West
Lafayette. Stone also is willing to make arrangements to
meet people to pick up donations. She can be contacted
through her personal Facebook page or through the
Coshocton County Area Schools Donation Group page.
“We are going to start with River View and Ridgewood
and then hope to have enough to do Coshocton as well,”
Stone said. “We want to do all the high schools and
junior highs and any extras will go for fifth and sixth
grades.”
“The bags will be used to put the
donations in. A lot of teachers
are having to pass out items to
students, but these can make it
more discreet.”
- Amy Stone
The products will be available to all girls regardless of
income.
“Anyone can use these (the donations),” Stone said. “I
want to help all the area girls.”
While they will accept monetary donations and gift
cards and can write receipts, Stone would prefer the
products themselves be donated.
