Footlight Players give you ‘ A Gift to Remember ’

The Coshocton Footlight Players will perform “ A Gift to Remember ” on Friday and Saturday , Dec . 1 and 2 , 8 and 9 , and 15 and 16 at 7:30 p . m . and Sunday , Dec . 10 at 2:30 p . m . at the Triple Locks Theater , 685 N . Whitewoman St ., Coshocton .
“ Our board was looking for a Christmas show to do ,” said Susan Metz Guthrie , director and producer . “ We always have good luck with people coming out to see Christmas shows , but we ’ d done a lot of the standard ones already .”
She found “ A Gift to Remember ” and was excited to have the board like it as much as she does .
“ It ’ s sweet , it ’ s family-orientated and it has a happy ending ,” Guthrie said . “ There is some depth to it too . It has characters with all kinds of emotions

The play is about a group of people who find themselves stuck at a train station on Christmas Eve because of bad weather .
“ They are frustrated but really bond with each other and quickly become friends ,” Guthrie said . “ It ’ s just very heartwarming .”

Tidrick is the youngest member of the cast at 8 years old .
“ This is my first time doing this ,” she said . “ I wanted to try something new .” Tidrick plays Kate . “ She ’ s nice , but her parents are divorced and she ’ s kind of grumpy about it ,” Guthrie said .
McMullen plays Clayton , the station manager .
“ He ’ s a pretty selfless guy ,” McMullen said . “ We believe he is a veteran of

the Vietnam War . He likes the simplicity of his job and getting to help people out . I like that the play takes you back to a time when things were simpler . There were no cell phones , and you had to talk to people . I think this play is a good way to get into the spirit of the season .”
Fischer ’ s character is trying to get to his daughter , who is expecting his first
Josie Sellers grandchild .
“ This is a warm , fuzzy Hallmark movie type play ,” he said . “ It ’ s something good for the whole family .”

Christmas Daddy Daughter Dance planned
A Christmas Daddy Daughter Dance will be held Friday , Dec . 1 from 6-9 p . m . at Coshocton Village Inn and Suites .
