CLEAN : Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water before , during and after preparing food and before eating . Wash your utensils , cutting boards and countertops with hot soapy water after preparing each food item .
SEPARATE : Don ’ t cross- contaminate raw meat , chicken and other poultry , seafood and eggs can spread germs to ready to eat food unless you keep them separate .
COOK : to the right temperature . Food is safely cooked when the internal temperature gets high enough to kill germs that can make you sick . The only way to tell if food is safely cooked is to use a food thermometer .
CHILL : Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours . Bacteria can multiply rapidly if left at room temperature or in the “ danger zone ” between 40 degrees and 140 degrees Fahrenheit .

RV Music Boosters happy to update their food stand

The River View Music Boosters food stand at the high school received a facelift this year , thanks to the generosity of businesses and the help of volunteers .
With donations from McWane Ductile and Coshocton Lumber , the group was able to update their cabinets , add some decorations and storage , buy new supplies and more .

Severe Weather Awareness Poster Contest now open

As part of the 2024 Severe Weather Awareness campaign , the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness , in cooperation with the National Weather Service and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency , announced the annual Severe Weather Awareness Poster Contest is open for submissions .
This contest is open to all Ohio students in kindergarten through sixth grade including individualized instruction ( special education ), public , private and

“ It looks fresh and clean ,” said Amy Unkefer , president of the booster club . “ When you come up to the window , it feels like you want to eat here .”
The stand is opened for basketball and volleyball games , home wrestling matches , music events , musicals , and the Warsaw Lions Club show . Funds

This poster contest serves as a tool to help students learn about severe weather safety and preparedness . Through their illustrations of Ohio severe weather events such as tornadoes , thunderstorms and flooding , students can demonstrate what actions they can take before , during and after severe weather events to protect themselves and others .
“ As Ohioans we ’ re no stranger to severe weather and its impacts ,” Ohio EMA raised from the stand help the music department with the cost of instruments , uniforms , supplies and extra expenses that might pop up throughout the year .
“ We feed the kids a lot from here too ,” Unkefer said .
For its next project , the group would like to update the school ’ s food stand at the fair , which is another way for it to raise funds for the music department .
Executive Director Sima Merick said . “ This contest allows young Ohioans to learn about safety and preparedness as they create their artwork .”
Ohio grade schools will soon receive additional information about the contest . All poster entries must be postmarked or emailed by Jan . 19 , 2024 .
