Yesterday saw ground broken for the Roscoe Village Inn . Willard S . Breon , president of the Roscoe Village Foundation and Edward E ., Foundation chairman , and Frances Montgomery each tossed the first shovels of dirt . “ It was necessary for the foundation to acquire 10 more properties in order to make this location feasible and attractive ,” said Montgomery regarding the 42,000 square feet building which will be constructed on Whitewoman Street . “ They pulled it off . I kidded them all for the last couple of months ,” said Herb Carfeldt , the center of a small parade held on Saturday . Jokingly asking for a parade to celebrate his 75th birthday he was surprised when they revealed “ Papa ’ s Birthday Parade .” The Walhonding Rube Band played as his family and friends marched from the alley behind Easterday & Parker Barbershop . After the parade they would go to dinner at King Charley ’ s Tavern .

Saturday , Nov . 16th saw RockTenn celebrate its 150th anniversary here in Coshocton . Welcoming retired and current workers and offering prizes , refreshments , and memorabilia the celebration also welcomed state officials , notably Rep . Hayes and Tim Ross of the Governor ’ s office . Steve Devlin accepted a proclamation from Hayes and Ross honoring the paper mill . Ross said , “ We wanted to recognize the commitment to the community and 150 years is certainly very rare throughout the state to still be in business . The proclamation was honoring that , and the message is that we ’ re happy they ’ re doing business in Ohio and happy they ’ re doing business in Coshocton , and we want to wish them another happy 150 years ,” Devlin said . “ We just really appreciate the people coming out , we saw a lot of families here , the employees took a lot of pride , they really pulled this thing together and took care of their areas and got the mill ready for the community to come in and we ’ re happy that people came out and shared the day with us .”
