Free mammograms program extended through November

Several business and healthcare organizations are offering free mammograms at Genesis HealthCare System to those who can ’ t afford one due to lack of insurance , being under-insured or not having the ability to pay . Originally planned to conclude Oct . 31 , the program has been extended through Nov . 30 .

City council gives parade reminder to all

The City of Coshocton and Clary Gardens will utilize two properties the city has obtained to create green houses in town , according to discussion that took place at the Nov . 8 city council meeting . Weather permitting , the start day on getting the green houses project was Nov . 11 with an expected finish date of Wednesday , Dec . 15 . Tom Heading with Coshocton is Blooming asked council for a financial donation to go toward the project .
Mayor Mills congratulated those council members who were elected during the election . Mills is proud of the community for supporting the levies that were passed .
Miracle on Main Street Christmas Parade will be Friday , Nov . 19 , and residents are encouraged to come and enjoy the parade . Safety and service director Max Crown said a new fire chief should be announced on Sunday , Dec . 12 .

Vouchers for free mammograms are available at Coconis Furniture locations and the Genesis Cancer Care Center for community members to pick up . Patients call Genesis Central Scheduling at 740-454-4242 to schedule their mammogram to be conducted at the Genesis HealthPlex by the end of 2021 , free of charge .

The Coshocton Opportunity School will do its second annual Dress Up Coshocton event this year . They dress up the trees on Main Street with socks , hats , coats , gloves and scarves , and individuals in the community can come and pick up what they need . Dress Up Day will be Monday , Dec . 13 at 4:30 p . m . New or gently used donations can be dropped off at the Coshocton High School Monday and Tuesday , Dec . 6-7 from 3-6 p . m . Call Dianna McKee at 740-622-3600 with any questions or to make arrangements to drop off donations .
The next council meeting is scheduled for Monday , Nov . 22 at 7 p . m . with the committee meeting starting at 5:30 p . m .
Coconis Furniture , WHIZ TV , Genesis HealthCare System , Muskingum County Community Foundation , Southeastern Ohio Breast and Cervical Cancer Project , and Riverside Radiology and Interventional Associates are the organizations collaborating to provide the breast cancer screening for those in need .
