While not the most exciting , given Ridgewood ’ s game had a false bomb scare called in , it was a tough competition to continue their win streak . 10-6 was the final score with Scott Richard putting in the Black Bears ’ only touchdown . Terry Albertson put in the extra point and a field goal . THURSDAY , NOV . 8 , 1981 The Lady Bears are off to regionals following their 15-3 , 15-8 win over John Glenn on Saturday . RVHS was led by Lori Haines with 10 points and followed by Sherri Finnell and Caroline Mast with six a piece . Their foes at Otterbein will be Tri-Valley . FRIDAY , NOV . 8 , 1991 This weekend the Lady Cougars of Mount Vernon Nazarene College will be going into the NAIA district volleyball tournament , and a General is going with them . Hailing from West Lafayette , Trista McNeal was one of Ridgewood ’ s stars . Now a sophomore in college , she has contributed much to Mount Vernon ’ s team and has been named to the National Christian College Athletic Association ’ s all-tournament team . “ I ’ ve developed belief in myself and in my teammates . We are a more close-knit team than I had in high school because we live with each other . We interact on a daily basis and become more of a family than as a team ,” McNeal said . MONDAY , NOV . 5 , 2001 Game 7 of the World Series has ended , and the Arizona Diamondbacks have won the title . With them of course was the reason many Coshoctonians tuned in , Bob Brenly . The former Giants catcher is a native of Coshocton , and this was his first year in a managerial position . The Army-Navy was filled with people watching , and despite being half a country away from Arizona , many felt it was “ our team .” Tom Unger , manager of the William E . Unger Army-Navy Union Garrison 628 club , said “ That was the best win I ’ ve ever seen in my entire life . I hate to see New York lose because of what happened there , but we ’ re proud of Bob Brenly , our home town hero .” WEDNESDAY , NOV . 9 , 2011 Thursday saw the entire county joined in on celebrating the life of Navy Builder Chief Petty Officer Raymond J . Border , who lost his life in Afghanistan on Oct . 19 of this year . A funeral procession traveled from Coshocton , through West Lafayette and ended in Plainfield Cemetery . People from the Coshocton County Career Center , of which he was an alumni , to local first responders and veterans and their families all came together to honor him .
