Ridenbaugh places second in BPW contest

Coshocton Business and Professional Women member Leslie Fehrman Ridenbaugh represented Region 3 BPW in the Ohio Business and Professional Women Young Careerist Competition on April 17 in a Zoom meeting and placed second .
Ridenbaugh is the CEO and owner of Ohio Family Counseling and Consultation LLC . She is a graduate of Mount Vernon Nazarene University and the University of Akron and is currently a doctoral candidate at Tulane University . She is a licensed independent social worker and holds several other credentials and licenses .
Ridenbaugh is a member of the 2021 Leadership Coshocton County class . A lifelong resident of Coshocton , she lives in Coshocton with her fiance and their six children .
The next Coshocton BPW meeting will be Monday , May 17 , at 6 p . m . at Schumaker Farms . The Joan McNeely Working Woman Scholarships will be awarded , Buckeye Girl State delegates will be recognized , and new members Leslie Fehrman Ridenbaugh , Jackie Farmer , Megan Staron-Baughman and Ellen McKee will be inducted .

ing to talk to . Singer Ray Charles ’ daughter , Sheila Raye Charles , sat around a campfire talking for hours . She has stayed three times and sang at the Old Warehouse . Tom Wopat stayed , and we only talked for a short time . I had to go to work ,” Crouso said .
Wopat has actually visited the Apple Butter Inn twice .
Wopat also was seen around town when he visited . Bill Johnson said , “ He bought a round in Kat Balou ’ s the night after his show . Very nice guy — wouldn ’ t let anyone buy one for him or his wife .”
JeanAnn Dunlap remembers Dennis Weaver was in town . “ My mom ’ s heartthrob . He played McCloud on a TV show . My mom got his autograph . I shook his hand . He was just walking on Main Street .”
Roy Rogers and Trigger came for a visit . Trigger was kept in a barn on County Road 16 near Lyon ’ s Curve . Gary Foster said he saw them around 1950 at the Sixth Street Theatre . “ When he was there , I was
only about 8 or 9 .”
Foster also remembers another actor he saw there . “ They had the original Frankenstein actor on stage when one of his movies played . That was around 1956 , and it was scary .”
Mike Simkins said , “ The Lone Ranger came to visit Larry Miskimens on North 15th Street sometime in the late ‘ 40s . I lived across the street and was very impressed .”
Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward visited Coshocton many times . He was a friend of Mr . Hay , who owned the jewelry store and graduated from Kenyon College . Both Newman and Woodward stayed involved with the college and were seen in Roscoe many times .
Kathleen Thompson said , “ I saw Joanne Woodward in line for ice cream at the Sweet Shoppe . I smiled at her , and she just nodded her head , acknowledging who she was . Her husband was attending an event at Kenyon College , and she drove to Roscoe to shop .”
Joel Hampton said he met Joanne at the Old Warehouse Restaurant in the early ‘ 80s .
Mary Patterson said , “ My mom said Ernest Tubbs bought a guitar at Glass Music , and she had a picture of her with him .”
Lee Bown remembers Phil Dirt and the Dozers , Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians , and Dale Evans . “ I helped her dress for her performance .”
Susan Grancey remembers Rich Mullens , a Christian singer in the 1980s , bought a string instrument in Roscoe . “ When I heard him in concert , he talked about Coshocton . At the end he asked if anyone was from that area to stand up , so I got to meet him in person for a few minutes — a great memory for a kid who just started going to college .”
“ Herb Score used to visit Triplett Drug as he worked for a drug company after retiring from baseball . Also , McGuffey Lane played at the fair one year and actually stayed at my house ,” Ric Bonice said .
