Coshocton Ollie ’ s grand opening set for May 13

Ollie ’ s will open its doors to the public on Thursday , May 13 . The new Coshocton store at 795 S . Second St . will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a . m . to 9 p . m . and Sunday from 10 a . m . to 7 p . m .

Ollie ’ s will open its doors to the public on Thursday , May 13 .
The new Coshocton store at 795 S . Second St . will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a . m . to 9 p . m . and Sunday from 10 a . m . to 7 p . m . They are next to Rural King in the old Woodbury Outfitters building .
“ In the state of Ohio , we have 33 open stores today and are in 25 states ,” said Jerry Altland , senior vice president of real estate . “ It just made sense to add this store . This is a good blue-collar town that is far enough away from our other stores .”
Ollie ’ s has 20 different departments and is a discount value-orientated retailer .
“ We offer brand-name products at 30-70 % off ,” Altland said . “ Our biggest departments are books , housewares , floor covering , hardware and domestics . We do have a little bit of food , but it ’ s all nonperishable items .”
Merchandise will vary .
“ You will not always find the same things , so if you see it , buy it ,” Altland said . “ There are certain things we have all the time , like tarps and floor coverings , but some deals you might not see ever again .”
The Coshocton store is around 34,500 square feet , and Altland said between 45 and 55 associates were hired .

Ridgewood discusses its summer plans

The regular meeting of the Ridgewood Local Board of Education met April 19 at West Lafayette Elementary School in the library .
Commendations were given to Jeff Drennen Car and Truck Dealership and Circle K for supplying the district with PPE face masks .
Participation in the Seamless Summer Program , where meals are provided during the summer break to children through the school food services , was discussed . Dates and times will be announced and are held at Burt Park by the school . A three-week summer program will be offered in all
buildings for enrichment in reading and math , science camp , and physical education . It will start June 1 and end June 18 .
Keith Leindecker , Kurtis Varian and John Evin were hired for summer employment . Kirby Shivers was approved as a softball volunteer for the 2020-21 season . The 2021-22 school calendar was approved as presented . Columbus State Community College and Central State University were approved for College Credit Plus for the 2021-22 school year . Griffin Insurance Co . was approved for Student School Insurance for the 2021-22 school year . The
Jefferson County Educational Service Center was approved for student services .
The retirements of Connie Eckelberry and Jackie Domer were accepted and approved , effective June 30 . Several policy changes were approved and updated as presented . A resolution for graduation requirements for 2021 were approved as presented . Adam Mills spoke to the board in support of assistant high school principal Matt Colvin .
The next regular board of education meeting will be Monday , May 17 at 6 p . m . at Ridgewood Elementary School in the cafeteria .
