“
By Jen Jones For The Beacon
It ’ s easy to look back and think “ I wish I had known … ” and perhaps choose a different path in life . In celebrating the Class of 2024 , people shared their best advice to help these young people in their lives .
Joe Guinther would like to tell the Class of 2024 to take care of their health and wealth now , and it will take care of them as they age .
Wendy Haney said , “ Don ’ t be afraid to take the path less traveled . Go on adventures . Try new things . Explore who you are . This is your time to grow and learn who you are .”
Those same sentiments were shared by Kelsey Duhamell . “ Just be yourself . Those who love you don ’ t mind , and those who mind don ’ t matter . Stand up for yourself and don ’ t be a people pleaser . No is a complete sentence , and having boundaries does not make you a horrible person .”
Martha Richardson wants the Class of 2024 to always be true to themselves . “ Always put integrity and morality first . Cherish each and every minute you share with family and friends because time is always ticking away and cannot be retrieved .”
Jill Bolitho urges everyone to travel the world . “ Rise to the occasion . Always be curious . Seek the truth . Be a good human and don ’ t forget to laugh ,” Bambi Zinkon said to the graduating class .
Rose Richcreek also advised the class to be true to themselves . “ Don ’ t try to be who you ’ re not . Stay true to yourself . You will make mistakes . Just learn from them . Laugh every day — even at yourself .”
“ Take lots of pictures , experience life and take risks . Guide your own destiny but take time to laugh and enjoy nature ,” Steve Oster said .
Sarah Jacobs shared a life experience she thought would help the graduates . “ College is not a requirement . There are many trades that you can work as an apprentice and not rack up thousands in student loans and make more money than many people with college degrees .”
Stacey Selders said she would tell the seniors not to try to be anyone else . “ Do what makes you happy , and your success will come in time . And take time to reflect on life and all it has to offer .”
Congratulations to the Class of 2024 . May each of you follow your dreams and find happiness in your lives . Be safe . Be happy . Be courageous . Be perfectly you .
