Recent high school graduates share words of wisdom with freshmen

Here are some words of wisdom for those entering high school from members of the Class of 2024 .
“ Don ’ t be afraid to find new friends , don ’ t care what people think and stand up for yourself ,” River View High School graduate Laynee Lowe said .
Ridgewood High School graduate Johnathan Woodward said , “ Hang around people that you want to be like . Stay open-minded to opportunities that present themself . Join some sort of club or organization — mine was FFA — because they can take you far .”
River View graduate Dillon McCormick said four years go by fast .
“ My advice for the freshmen would be don ’ t be too excited for high school because , once you get there , it goes by quick and then you ’ re at graduation wondering what you want to do for the rest of your life and don ’ t be shy and be yourself ,” McCormick said .

4-H members earn several scholarships
The Coshocton County 4-H Endowment Committee recently awarded scholarships to three area seniors who have demonstrated strong leadership in their respective 4-H clubs and in 4-H activities on the county , state and national level .
Piper Andrews from River View High School will attend University of Akron to pursue a degree in nursing . She is the daughter of Vince and Jodi Andrews and a member of the Magic Makers 4-H Club .
Georgia Haines from River View High School will attend Muskingum University to pursue a degree in psychology . She is the daughter of Scott and Liz Haines and a member of the Above and Beyond 4-H Club .
Kamryn McGinnis from River View High School will attend Kent State University to pursue a degree in premedical biology . She is the daughter of Jay and Vikki McGinnis and a member of the Winner 4-H Club .

The Coshocton Christian School preschool and kindergarten students did a play together for their graduation ceremony . The preschoolers were moving up from their preschool “ beehive ” to the kinder “ garden .” Kinder “ garden ” told of how they have grown in God ’ s love this year and in their academics . They have learned many things with numbers , and they have grown so much in their letters they can read . Preschool played two handbell songs and presented letter sounds , blends and counting .
