Graduates share thoughts on high school and life after
By Jen Jones The Beacon

High school graduation is a time for looking forward and back. It’ s a time to share thoughts for the students following behind and to remind them how quickly their high school years will fly by.

Robby Lohrman from Coshocton High School and the Coshocton County Career Center said English III is one of his fondest memories.“ It was the first English class I took where I actually went to class with a smile. I loved the class and the teacher.”
Lohrman said when he was in fifth or sixth grade, he decided he wanted to go into electrical engineering, but during a visit to the Coshocton County Career Center his sophomore year, he saw another option.“ They had electrical systems tech, and I thought that looked cool and wanted to be part of it. Tech sounded like fun.” He said his class was very hands-on and informative. This class also allowed him to work
as a student partner with IBEW 1105.
“ It’ s an early gateway to their apprenticeship. I’ m getting the hours I need for that while still in school, and I’ m getting paid too,” Lohrman said.
Because of this, he’ ll actually be a second-year apprentice in the fall.
“ There is a house on Cambridge Road that I worked on,” Lohrman said.“ It’ s tough and rewarding to see work I’ ve done be used.”
His advice for other students is to always have a career goal.“ If it feels right, go for it,” he said.
Hope Mickle from River View High School said her favorite memories are hanging out with her friends at sporting events and cheering for football. She plans to attend COTC for vascular sonography and specialize in pediatric. She also will go to EMT school.
Mickle’ s advice for younger students is“ do what makes you happy and don’ t listen to what others have to say.”
Another RVHS graduate is
Atyana Milici. Going to Friday Night Lights, participating in Den Leaders, going to districts for swim and her senior project are a few of her favorite memories. Her senior project was the Strike-Out Cancer Game.
“ My future plans would be working at Radiance or having my own suite as a hair stylist,” Milici said.“ My advice for younger students would be to never hesitate to try something new. If you want to join a sport, join it. If you want to join that club, join it. Don’ t graduate with any regrets and especially don’ t let people around you ruin the biggest time in your life because it’ ll all be over before you know it.”
Gabrielle Schlabach from Ridgewood High School is planning to become a surgical technician while she attends Mid- East to further her education to become a travel nurse.
“ A travel nurse is an RN who takes on temporary nursing positions, often in areas experiencing staffing shortages or during specific events like natural disasters

or pandemics,” Schlabach said.
She wants to be a travel nurse to experience new places and gain diverse work experiences.“ My favorite memory is going to Cedar Point. I will miss the teachers and my friends,” Schlabach said.
Hayden Walters from RVHS plans to attend Ohio State University and major in biology. He hopes to become a pediatrician.
“ I chose to become a pediatrician as it has always been my goal to become a doctor. My enjoyment in caring for and supporting children has inspired me as well,” Walters said.“ My favorite memory from high school is winning the state championship in soccer.”
Walters’ advice for younger students is“ live in the moment as high school flies by.”

My advice for younger students would be to never hesitate to try something new. If you want to join a sport, join it. If you want to join that club, join it. Don’ t graduate with any regrets.”
