Concert and fireworks at Ohio State , COTC campus are canceled
The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College announced the Independence Day concert and fireworks event held at the shared campus is canceled for the second year .
In recent years crowds at the event have consistently exceeded 20,000 people on campus at one time . Because the open campus is accessible on foot , bicycle or motor vehicle , restricting attendance to comply with capacity limits is impossible . Even though the event is outdoors , they feel they can ’ t ensure appropriate physical distancing is maintained throughout the duration of the event .
