West Lafayette events start off with Yellow Flag Days

After the hard hand 2020 dealt , the West Lafayette Chamber of Commerce has events scheduled for 2021 .
“ We had to cancel everything last year . I felt like the Grim Reaper doing so , but we are thrilled , just tickled to death , to have events this year ,” said Oren Griffith , chamber president .
Griffith said they fielded phone calls from people in Cleveland , Cambridge , Athens and other surrounding areas asking if the Spring Yellow Flag Sales were going to take place this year .
“ People are looking for something to do ,” Griffith said .

Sophia and Sawyer Sellers sold drinks on May 8 at The EPI- Center , which participated in the West Lafayette Yellow Flag Day Sales . The EPICenter is located at 100 E . Main St . in West Lafayette . It is a spacious venue with accommodations to suit one ’ s party , festivity or event . For more on renting the facility , visit The EPICenter Facebook page .
Events 2021 posted on Facebook and on the chamber ’ s page , there are plenty of events to look forward to . While the Spring Yellow Flag
Sales occurred this past weekend , the Fall Yellow Flag Sales are set for Sept . 3-4 .
Griffith said residents participating in the sales will be able to register online like they did for the spring . There will still be the $ 5 fee , and most likely , fall participants will have to follow CDC guidelines just as the spring participants had to . In addition , a list of addresses of where the sales will take place will be made available for those wanting to attend . Lists will be made available through the Chamber of Commerce website , Facebook page and at various locations in West Lafayette such as the library .
The 73rd annual West Lafayette Homecoming will take place July 29-30 . Griffith said there will be fireworks , entertainment has been scheduled , and vendors are already calling and asking to come . Applications for the West Lafayette Homecoming Court are available , and the deadline is June 27 .
A Halloween party is scheduled for Saturday , Oct . 30 , and the annual Christmas Parade is set for Dec . 4 . Details for both events are being worked out .
