Coshocton County has one new face and two familiar faces in new positions .
Jed McCoy has been with Job & Family Services for 15 years and was recently named the new director after Danny Brenneman left .
“ I started as the employment coordinator in our OhioMeans- Jobs division . I worked with businesses and job seekers , assisting them with any employmentrelated needs that they had ,” McCoy said . “ I was then promoted to business administrator , where I supervised the front-desk staff , performed
all HR roles and functions , processed payroll , and was the inhouse IT person and later supervised Family and Children First Council when we merged with them in late 2019 .
“ Most recently , I was promoted to assistant director , where I maintained all my roles and duties and would make decisions when our director was out of the office . And as of April 25 , I have taken over as the director of JFS .”
McCoy said he has a great team of administrators , supervisors and front-line staff that know their positions and do amazing things for the

community .
“ I have had the privilege to work with a lot of external partners , locally and outside of our community , in a variety of capacities , and I am looking forward to growing with them as well ,” McCoy said . “ I am humbled , excited and anxious about this new adventure , but our team , from top to bottom , is what makes this opportunity exciting . I was also very fortunate to have had the chance to learn and grow under some great people and mentors , most recently Danny Brenneman .
“ I would like to thank the commissioners for their trust and belief in me . I would also like to thank my family and everyone else who has reached out to show support , provide encouragement and all the kind words and gestures as I start this new adventure .”
As of March 14 , Tammi Rogers is the incoming director for the Coshocton Park District . After May 31 she will be the director , replacing Lori Everhart .
“ I didn ’ t know I wanted to be park director

until I was approached and asked if it would be something I would consider . The more I thought about it , the more I realized this was a position I would enjoy being a part of . I worked at OSU Extension for over 17 years in ag and natural resources and led the Master Gardener Volunteer Program . I was with Coshocton County Recycling and Litter Prevention for 4 1 / 2 years . This position is a combination of both — managing and teaching about the natural world and the system of county financials , policies and procedures ,” Rogers said .
Rogers said she has a lot of ideas for the park but wants to learn more about the park before she takes on any new projects .
“ One idea I have implemented is utilizing social media to engage the public of events at the park , plants currently blooming and my litter walk pictures . People need to see how much trash is getting left behind ,” Rogers said . “ The park is huge — 500 acres — and encompasses
the aquatic center , the pavilion , campground , shelters and canal boat , not to mention the walking paths , Hilltop trails and activities , basins , and lake . Every day brings new challenges and opportunities that I ’ m excited to meet head on .”
The new program director for Coshocton County Recycling and Litter Prevention is Alex Nelson . Her first day was March 23 . Before that , she was the conservation education lead at The Wilds in Cumberland .
“ I was part of that team for about a year before accepting this job with the county ,” Nelson said . “ I would really like to increase the amount of public recycling events offered by our office . Since I have started , there have been several requests for collection events for shredded paper , glass , hazardous material , et cetera . I would love to incorporate these onto our calendar . I would also like to incorporate community recycling competitions in the future .”
Her ideas include billboard designs , school collection competitions and business competitions . “ Nothing is on the books yet . But I ’ m hoping that these types of activities will be starting in the near future ,” she said .
