Construction work to impact SR 16 starting May 16
The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Coshocton County . All outlined work is weather permitting .

Beginning Monday , May 16 , work is expected to begin on the state Route 16 reconstruction project . At that time work will begin on the two-lane section of state Route 16 between the south side of state Route 83 and AK Steel . Work will be completed in 2-mile increments .
Maintenance of traffic includes one-way traffic for state Route 16 westbound traffic and a closure of state Route 16 eastbound . The posted detour for state Route 16 eastbound will be state Route 60 northbound , to state Route 541 , to state Route 16 .
There will be a complete closure of state Route 16 eastbound at state Route 60 , and traffic will be forced to use the off-ramp at state Route 60 . Local traffic on state Route 16 will be able to access state Route 16 eastbound by using the state Route 16 eastbound on-ramp from state Route 60 . All other traffic must detour .

Route 83 and Adams Mills , work will continue on the two-lane section between state Route 83 and the fourlane section of state Route 16 . The work in the two-lane section will take all of 2022 and a portion of 2023 . Work will then begin on the four-lane section of state Route 16 . At that time one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction . State Route 16 will be open to traffic over the winter .
Babysitting course offered at Genesis
Genesis Women ’ s Services is offering a Safe Sitter ® babysitting course to help teens and preteens be safe , whether they are babysitting , caring for younger siblings or home alone . There are two classes to choose from : Friday , June 3 , and Thursday , June 9 , from 9 a . m . to 3:30 p . m . at the Genesis HealthPlex , 2800 Maple Ave ., Zanesville .
Through hands-on activities , videos , demonstration , role-play and lively discussion , a team of Genesis registered nurses will teach participants about first aid , safety , injury prevention , CPR demonstrations , safe and appropriate toys and games , and finding and interviewing for babysitting jobs . The instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises . Participants will learn about children from newborn to school age .
