Sasquatch Triangle Conference to be held on Sunday , May 15

By Jen Jones
In the 1980s and ‘ 90s , Don Keating did research about sightings of Bigfoot , a large , hairy creature that walks like a man . He discovered most of the sightings fit into a triangle when a line is drawn from Newcomerstown to Conesville to Salt Fork State Park . Keating called this area the Sasquatch Triangle .
David Wickham is the organizer for the Sasquatch Triangle Conference . There will be five speakers who will share their own experiences . Each has seen or heard a Sasquatch . They are from different areas of the country and have been on TV or have podcasts .
Wickham said he always believes people when they come to him to share their stories . “ They aren ’ t looking to get rich . Why would they make up an experience ? Every Native American tribe from around here had a representation of a large , hairy creature that walked like a man .

In the 1920s newspaper articles appeared saying that a large creature , possibly an escaped gorilla , was seen around Roscoe Village . Articles appeared for four

Wickham said more articles about it appeared in the 1930s in Chandlersville . People said it must be the same escaped gorilla .
“ This is just an interesting , fun topic . I have learned so much about the animals that we have around here . I help with the Bigfoot walks at Salt Fork , and we always say that if we can get one kid to read a book about Bigfoot or nature or ask their parents to go for a hike , we ’ ve won ,” Wickham said .
