COTC hosting nursing , healthcare career event
Central Ohio Technical College will hold a nursing and healthcare career education event at the Coshocton campus on Thursday , May 18 . Prospective students and visitors can tour the labs , and admissions representatives and faculty will be available to answer questions .
The full practical nursing program is offered at the Coshocton campus . “ The field of nursing is dynamic , and the job market is very good in our region and beyond . Many clinical facilities are paying sign-on bonuses . Art guild to celebrate shop anniversary

The Coshocton Art Guild will celebrate its first anniversary operating the Toll House Art & Gift Shop in Roscoe Village on Saturday , May 20 from noon to 5 p . m . with refreshments , live demonstrations by artists and music .

A licensed practical nurse works directly with registered nurses and doctors to provide patients with nursing care and monitor the patient ’ s health . LPNs may choose to work in long-term care and assisted living facilities , industrial settings , medical offices , private homes or acute care hospitals .
The practical nursing program at COTC offers a one-year ( three semester ) study plan . The curriculum provides a balance of general education and nursing courses including clinical laboratory experiences that encompass the care of people of all age groups . COTC graduates of this program

Other healthcare programs available at the Coshocton campus include STNA , phlebotomy , electrocardiography and patient care technician . These programs offer training and education in a shorter time frame , allowing students to enter the healthcare workforce more quickly .
