A vibrant atmosphere filled the gymnasium at Coshocton Christian School when the glow basketball game took place.
Coshocton Christian School held a glow basketball game. After years of dreaming about this event, coaches and players finally brought their vision to life.
In a twist on the traditional basketball game, players donned glow necklaces and bracelets, which not only added a fun visual element, but also determined team selections. Coaches purchased a glow-in-the-dark basketball and stocked up on glow sticks for both the boys and girls teams.
“ Our goal was to create an environment where everyone could have fun and connect,” said Shannon Tubbs, the girls team coach.“ We wanted laughter, camaraderie and a chance for the kids to let down their hair and enjoy each other’ s company.”
Although the glow ball had some hiccups during the game— fading in and out of brightness— the enthusiasm of the players never dimmed. The event concluded with
Monsters and national champion Amped Up. Many more favorites will be there too. There will be extreme UTV racing on an obstacle course and more.
General admission and VIP tickets are available. VIP includes a monster truck ride pass, preshow pit party and other events.
Gates will open at 4 p. m., with the VIP preshow pit party from 4-5 a gathering where players shared their highlights from the season. In a moment of reflection, they prayed together, giving thanks for the experiences they shared, including both victories and challenges.
Looking ahead, the coaching staff is already brainstorming ways to enhance next year’ s event. Plans include acquiring glow nets, additional glow balls and perhaps even black lights to make the gymnasium glow even brighter.
“ We hope to make this an annual tradition,” Tubbs said.“ Every opportunity we have to plant seeds of faith and joy is worth pursuing, especially in the context of sports.”
