The two Coshocton students honored were Coshocton High School senior Nela Wiredu and Coshocton High School eighth-grader Ellis Hunt. Throughout high school, Wiredu has been involved in Key Club, soccer, marching band, pep band, junior band award, basketball, track, Varsity C, FCCLA and National Honor Society. Her outside-of-school activities include youth chorale.
“ I made an impact in a lot of areas, but I feel I have made the most impact in leadership,” Wiredu said.“ Not only did I hold leadership positions in most if not all of my activities, but I also see firsthand the impact I have left. I was and will continue to be someone to come to for advice, a confidant, a friend, but also a leader to give guidance. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I was given that let

In high school she hopes to take honor classes to better herself and prepare for college classes.
“ I also hope to continue being a leader and working hard to get good grades,” Hunt said.

Measles starts with respiratory symptoms: cough, nasal congestion, red eyes, fever and then a generalized rash develops. A person is infectious four days before onset of the rash until four days after. Most cases resolve with supportive care, but some people will develop pneumonia, which can be fatal. If you are concerned that you or a family member has measles, before going to a medical facility( ER, urgent care or a doctor’ s office), call ahead and alert them to your concerns so arrangements can be made to avoid exposing other people in the facility.
