Mills and Crown thank residents for patience

At the Feb . 22 city council meeting , Mayor Mark Mills and safety and service director Max Crown thanked business owners for cleaning up the sidewalks in front of their businesses , as well as public works and all city departments who chipped in to help with snow and ice removal , allowing streets , sidewalks and bridges to be cleared for access . Mills would like to remind businesses that are empty or not open right now that they are responsible for cleaning their sidewalks as well .
Mills wanted residents to know it costs $ 70 a ton for salt , and while salt did not arrive until the weekend of the 20th , the city tried its best to stay diligent and to utilize what they did have to help keep the

Shrimplin reopens his Main Street barber shop

Bruce Shrimplin from Shrimplin ’ s Barber Shop , located at 543 Main St . in Coshocton , announced he is open again for business . Shrimplin had to temporarily close his business due to some health issues . He is back part-time for now with hopes of resuming regular hours soon .
Shrimplin ’ s Barber Shop is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a . m . to noon but closed on Thursday and Sunday . Walk-ins are welcome . Shrimplin ’ s Barber Shop has been serving clients in Coshocton for over 53 years .
streets of Coshocton safe . Crown shared how many workers had 50 hours or more of overtime , and he appreciates every employee ’ s effort . Also , Crown thanked residents for their patience with all of the snow and ice Coshocton has had .
According to Mills , there was a comment posted on Facebook informing citizens that West Lafayette will be without water for two weeks . Mills would like residents to be mindful that not every comment on Facebook is true . Those West Lafayette residents who will not be affected by the water shut-off will be notified via a yellow tag on their door .
Mills further shared how approximately 50 residents have utilized the utilities office ’ s online bill pay . He said everyone will receive information in their March bill on how to utilize the online system .
Crown gave residents a heads up that a storm-drainage project on North 10th Street will begin soon . This may affect the intersection of North 10th and Oak .
In response to a question from a resident , Mills expressed his hope for the old public library to be turned over to Our Town and for it to be made into a miniature history museum for the city of Coshocton . He shared how he finally , after 43 years , stepped foot into the library , and it was a surreal experience . The building needs work , but he would love to see it return to the community .
