We ’ re coming down to the line and headed to spring

And I don ’ t mean a line in the sand . New COVID-19 cases are declining across the nation , and as more and more people are vaccinated , we should see a continued decline in cases , hospitalizations and deaths . Cases continue to decline following a peak in early January but are still too high . And now with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine approved , this provides a third vaccine in the arsenal to beat the virus .
The Johnson & Johnson vaccine is unique in that it is only one shot and

does not require being in a freezer . Refrigeration will suffice .
Perhaps , perhaps , we are starting to return to some patterns of normalcy , and by summer we could see — it would be nice to see — restaurants open at full capacity , live events being held with increased attendance and more . The best news , of course , would be that by fall schools across the nation are back in the classroom in a big way . If we can hold proms and graduation , I would think we can be in the classroom . And some are already .
But the worst thing we could do right now is take our eye off the ball , get complacent and think the virus is already defeated . It is not . As new strains begin to take hold , the battle could be far from over . It would be nice to see a consistent message from the officials on where we stand . Is it one mask , no mask , two masks ?
The Buckeyes put up a solid effort against both TTUN and the Hawkeyes but came up short in both contests . The Buckeyes men ’ s basketball team is still a solid contender and should be able to advance in March Madness depending on who they come up against .
Well , we ’ re now into March . You know what that means ? Daylight Saving Time is only a couple of weeks away , and spring is getting close . I can tell by the piles of dirt in the yard — whatever critters are digging away — critters

Nationwide Arena opens back up to fans after one year of absence as the Blue Jackets “ 5th line ” gets back in the action — with caution being the word of the day . Fans can sit in “ pods ” of two or four , but fans are excited to be back in the stands .
The weather forecast has sunshine for the week , and the long-range outlook has temperatures climbing into the 50s and 60s next week . We could see “ tulips ” popping through the ground in the next couple of weeks .
Sure , we have probably not seen the last of this year ’ s snow . We typically get one or two in March and sometimes a doozy or two in April . Regardless of what happens , you always know that with the passing of each day , there is more daylight and warmer temperatures are on the way . Bring it on . We ’ re all ready for spring this year .
