Army Navy opens in new location on South Sixth

The oldest veterans organization in America is back in action in Coshocton County .
Kevin and Kathie Freshwater and Jerry Tippie reopened the Army Navy Garrison 628 at 133 S . Sixth St . in Coshocton , just a few blocks down from its previous location on Walnut Street . Kevin Freshwater has been a member of the organization since 1987 and is currently garrison commander , along with holding roles on the state and national level .
“ We liked the price of this building and the overhead was a lot less ,” Kevin Freshwater said . “ It ’ s also cozy . The atmosphere is homey and friendly .”
In the near future they will have a full menu offering breakfast , lunch and dinner . A free breakfast for veterans and first responders that is $ 5 for the general public also will be brought back .
“ When things get rolling , we will have more bands ,” Freshwater said . “ We have to see what we

The co-owners also hope to bring back parties for kids , summer picnics and golf leagues .
The Army Navy is here to help veterans in the community , but you do not have to be one yourself to join . There are options for joining if you had a relative who served in the military .
“ Stop by , ring the buzzer , and come in and see us ,” Freshwater said . “ We will be open to the public for food too .”
