TUESDAY , MARCH 2 , 1971 The CHS basketball team has broken the 100 point barrier for the first time since Coshocton started its basketball program in 1899 . Facing Ridgewood for the third place position in the sectional championship game , 102-57 was the final score of the game . Bob Brenly and Mark McConnell led CHS with 19 points apiece . They were followed by Bob Lapp with 15 , Steve Krebs with 12 , Dan Brown and Tim Laird with 11 , Tim Kohler with 8 and Mike Buck with 7 . Ridgewood was led by Dan Smith with 13 points , and followed by Greg Mast with 12 and Jack Shurtz with 8 . Coshocton goes on to the sectional championship game against West Holmes with a record of 11-8 , and Ridgewood now stands 5-14 .
SUNDAY , MARCH 1 , 1981 The Lady Bears have netted themselves the lower bracket sectional title . Fighting Dover in Warsaw , the game ended in 64-39 . Caroline Mast led the team in scoring with 19 points , pushing her over 1,000 points . She was closely followed by Nancy Beatty with 18 , and Tricia Mast rounded out with 7 . River View goes into the upper bracket bout with a record of 20-2 .
MONDAY , FEB . 25 , 1991 State diving and swimming competitions were held Friday and Saturday . CHS put up members in both . The swim team sent 14 students , but none returned with a title . “ We gave everything we had to do well in the sectionals , just to get here . I ’ m really proud of them ,” said coach Ed Gallagher . The diving team put up five , two girls and three boys , and each of the three boys finished in the top 10 ; Donnie Darr finished fifth , Chris Skelton finished eighth and Matt McConnell finished 10th .

CHS ’ freshman cheerleaders went to the Americheer Winter Classic , and came back with first place . Over the past four years CHS managed to win the ECOL cheerleading competition , and last year they qualified for the Americheer regional competition . The team was composed of Lindsie Bowman , Mary France , Ashley Schlegel , Katie Seward , Jordan Smith and Ashley Kestler .
WEDNESDAY , MARCH 2 , 2011 Kids America wrapped up its first regional tournament on Saturday . Eight teams participated in the U-15 Regional Tournament on Saturday . A part of the Junior Olympic Volleyball Program , Kids America ’ s team finished second place . The team consisted of Katie Tupper , Lauren Hire , Madeline Hire , Jordan Cognion , Allie Dobson , Erika Michael , Emily Barnett , Rebecca Douglas and Trista Claxon .
