The First Baptist Church in West Lafayette will hold a free community chili dinner on Saturday, March 29 from 4-6 p. m. at 688 Main St. in West Lafayette.
The menu will be chili, cornbread, applesauce and dessert.
Pastor Ben Hartley said the church has held community dinners before.“ We had a spaghetti supper on Feb. 1. We also did a spaghetti supper in April 2024 and a summer barbecue in July 2023. These were all provided free to the community.”
Hartley said they want to hold these suppers to help provide for the needs of others and share the true purpose of the church to the community.
“ Our plan is to have
playgrounds, light tree trimming, lake shore cleanup, and more as time permits.
Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves, pruners, garden rakes, wheelbarrows and other gardening tools. A picnic lunch will be served at noon for all the volunteers, compliments of the Friends of the Parks.
