First responders attend recent Cloverbud Camp

4-H Cloverbud Camp had a safety theme this year , and campers were able to learn from local first responders .
Two of the Coshocton County Sheriff ’ s Office K-9 officers brought their dogs with them for demonstrations , and the Coshocton Fire Department brought its safety house . The June 11 day camp at Lake Park also included a game , craft , lunch and swimming . Around 30 attended the camp .
“ This gives kids in the community that aren ’ t old enough to join 4-H yet the chance to come out and meet others their own age ,” said Anisha Richesson , the Cloverbud representative for Coshocton County .
4-H Cloverbuds are children who are 5 and in kindergarten to age 8 and in third grade .
“ It ’ s the first stop in 4-H ,” said Jessica Paynter , the Superior Livestock 4-H Club
Cloverbud advisor . “ They learn the 4-H pledge and motto and the importance of community service .”
Cloverbuds display their club ’ s project with others at the fair , and
there are opportunities for them to get experience showing animals at the fair .
“ They also learn about friendships and thinking about the community ,” Paynter said .
