Ice Cream Social: Prairie Chapel United Methodist
Church, US 36 and CR 23, Coshocton, will have an ice
cream social on Thursday, July 20 from 4 – 6:30 p.m.
Menu will include hot dogs, coneys, shredded chicken,
sloppy joes, baked beans, homemade noodles, cole
slaw, macaroni salad, potato salad, and drinks. Des-
serts include cakes, pies and ice cream. Love offering
appreciated.
Jacob’s Closet: Warsaw United Methodist Church has
new hours for their Jacob’s Closet (free gently-used
clothing for children, men, & women). Thursday, 9 a.m.
- Noon. Located at 130 E. Church St. Warsaw. Clean
gently-used clothing for the closet can be dropped off

Vacation Bible School
Coshocton Christian Tabernacle: The Coshocton
Christian Tabernacle, 23891 Airport Rd., will have
their Vacation Bible School, Maker Fun Factory, June
26 – 30 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Ages 4 through 6th grade
are welcome. There will be Bible lessons, skits, music,
games, crafts, and snacks. To pre-register, call the

Canal Lewisville UMC: Canal Lewisville UMC, 198
East Church St., will have Vacation Bible School June
26 – 30 from 9 a.m. – noon. The program will be July 2
at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. The VBS is for kids ages
four through 6th grade and the theme this year is Hero
Central. Activities include music, Bible fun, science,
crafts, snacks, games, and more. Register by calling

or register the first day of Bible School. All children
attending the first day are asked to wear a red shirt.
First Baptist Church: First Baptist Church Coshocton
will host a “Fruit of the Spirit” Vacation Bible School
July 10 - 14 from 9 a.m. - noon. Kids preschool through
high school are invited to attend. Junior and senior
high school kids will participate in service projects
throughout the week, while younger kids will enjoy
lessons, music, crafts, games, and fun foods. VBS will
be held at 618 Chestnut Street, Coshocton.
Keene United Methodist Church: Keene United
Methodist Church, 27100 County Road 1, Coshocton,
will have Vacation Bible School July 10 – 14 from 6 –
8:30 p.m. “Hero Central” is the theme. Children will
discover their strength in God and realize they are
God’s heroes. Preschool age through sixth grade
children is welcome to pa rticipate in Bible learning
activities, crafts, music, and outdoor games. Our
closing program will be Sunday, July 16 at 9:30 a.m.

St. Paul Lutheran VBS: St. Paul Lutheran Church in
Newcomerstown, 121 S. College Street, will be having
Vacation Bible School July 10 -14 from 9 a.m. - noon.
The theme this year is Operation Arctic directed by
Tracy Brown. On this thrilling expedition, kids will
uncover the coolest book on the planet-the Bible! Join
us for snacks, games, music, crafts and more! There
will be classes for Preschool through 6th Grade. You

Weight Loss Challenge: Healthy’s will have a weight
loss challenge on Wednesdays now through Aug. 9 at
7:15 p.m. at their location at 125 Downtowner Plaza.
Entry fee is $35 and paid out to top men and women.
Mandatory weekly classes and weigh-ins. Pre-register
at Healthy’s Coshocton.
Pets for Life: Coshocton County Relay for Life will have
their first Pets for Life event on Saturday, July 29 from
10 a.m. – noon at Burt Park in West Lafayette. Being
held in conjunction with the West Lafayette Homecom-
ing. Bring your best animal friend to show off to the
community. There will also be a demonstration by the
K-9 unit and a Chinese auction. Prizes will be awarded
in several categories, some of which are: most unique
pet, best dressed pet, crowd favorite, and best trained.

Charity Poker Run: The third annual Coshocton Moose
935 Charity Poker Run will be Aug. 12. First bike out at
11 a.m. and last bike back at 6 p.m. Hands drawn by 7
p.m. Top hand wins. Cost is $25 per couple or $15 for
a single rider. There will also be a 50/50, food, raffles,
t-shirts, and live music by Last Call. Benefitting local
Coshocton County veterans’ organizations.
Toastmasters: Coshocton Toastmasters meets the
first Thursday and third Wednesday of every month
from 12 - 12:55 p.m. at Organic Technologies, 545

second Saturday of each month at the American
Legion at 9 am. If you are a Vietnam Veteran who
served during the Vietnam War, whether you served in

Art: The West Lafayette Library is featuring the
artists of the Hopewell Industries during the month
of July. View the variety of unique techniques of art in
a variety of subjects using acrylic paints at the library.

Thursday and Friday from Noon – 5 p.m., and Saturday
11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Plugged and Unplugged, Wednesdays, Coshocton
Public Library, 2:30 – 5 p.m.: Games, snacks, friends,
and fun. Teens are invited to gather at the library for
video games, Internet access, board games, or just to
hangout. This free event is held weekly on Wednesday.

Bitty Builders, June 28, Coshocton Public Library,
10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and 11 – 11:30 a.m.: For babies
and toddlers birth to three years, plus parents or
caregivers, focusing on early literacy and socialization
skills through rhyme, rhythm, finger plays and music,
all from the security of a parent’s lap. We spend 20
minutes on a structured circle time, read the shortest
of stories, and then enjoy parachute play, art projects,
musical instruments, bubbles, or other fun activities.
Dream Builder, June 29, Coshocton Public Library,
10 – 11 a.m. and 12 – 12:55 p.m.: Help your child build a
love of reading and construct a relationship with the
library by registering them for our Dream Builder Club.
They will enjoy a super-charged hour of high-energy
activities, riveting stories, and dynamic crafts. We will
be dividing into two age groups, 3 – 6 year olds and 7 –
12 year olds. The theme is “Build a Better World”.
Chi Class, June 29, Roscoe United Methodist Church,
but sponsored by Coshocton Public Library, 10 – 11
a.m.: Join us in the gym of Roscoe United Methodist
Church as we practice gentle exercises that reduce
stress and increase vitality. No experience necessary.
Free and open to the public. These exercises come
from the ancient Chinese health care system of Qigong
and Tai Chi. The gentle rhythmic movements can help
reduce stress, build stamina, enhance the immune
system, lower blood pressure, impro ve balance
and flexibility, and build strong bones. And they’re
fun. Taught by Holli Rainwater, certified Tai Chi Easy
Practice Leader.
Build a Better World: 3D Pen Building, June 29, West
Lafayette Branch, 3 – 4:30 p.m.: Put your building
skills to the test using the innovative 3Doodlers. Make a
wearable bracelet or construct a bridge. It’s up to you.
If you can dream it, you can build it. You will use plastic
filament in a variety of colors that the 3Doodler pens,
think hot glue guns, will rapidly heat, and then cool to
allow you to literally draw in the air. Do not miss this
three date series to be held at the branch. Registration
is required.
Books Galore Book Store, Coshocton Public Library,
Monday, 3 – 6 p.m., Wednesday and Saturday - 10
a.m. - 1 p.m.: Gently-used books, DVDs, videos, and
magazines for sale at rock bottom prices. Located
in the basement of the Coshocton Public Library and
operated by the Friends of the Library. All proceeds
benefit the library, the West Lafayette Branch and
Bookmobile.
