Kiser honored at BPW meeting
COSHOCTON - Eva June Kiser was honored by Coshocton Business and Professional Women ( BPW ) at their June meeting for her 50 year membership . She was presented with a corsage by President Carla Fowler and flowers by Mayor Steve Mercer . Members also voted to make her a life-time member and will continue to pay her dues in the future .
Kiser joined Coshocton Business and Professional Women ( BPW ) June 1 , 1967 . She has served on many committees over the years but her favorite one was entertainment chair . She produced programs for local and district meetings . Many of her programs were big productions with practice sessions involving many of the members . Recalling those programs is part of her favorite memories . She also marched in community parades with her local BPW group . Two presidents she enjoyed working with were Beth Neighbor and Gertrude Baumgardner .
With every project that her daughter and fellow BPW member , Tomma Bordenkircher , took on Eva June always asked , “ What can I do to help you ?”
In the past , she often helped Liz Herrell with projects , such as the BPW fair booth , the Coshocton County Career Center Open House , and helped hand out information on Pay Equity Day at the Court House .
She has traveled throughout the state to various region and state meetings with her fellow members . She was honored at the State Conference in 2007 as a BPW Legend , one of several members with 40 years or more . In 2010 she was surprised as the Coshocton BPW Woman of the Year .
In Kiser ’ s 50 years of membership , the friendships she has made is what has meant the most to her . Many of the members that were in when she joined have passed , but she continues to befriend the new members and makes them feel welcome . She greets her fellow members with a smile and a good story .

WEST LAFAYETTE - The Ridgewood Local School Board met in regular session Monday , June 19 with all members present . The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance . The minutes of the May 15 meeting were approved . Trista Claxon , Middle School Principal and Superintendent Mike Masloski gave administrative presentations . Mrs . Claxon gave a video presentation of the year in review of Middle School activities . Superintendent Masloski gave a video presentation of the CCP ( College Credit Plus ) students that recently visited the International School of Columbus and the 8th Grade trip to Washington D . C . Commendations were given to Julie Feldner for a successful 8th Grade trip to Washington D . C ., Lexi Prater was recognized for placing at the State Track Meet : 6th in the long jump and 100 M hurdles , and the 4 X 200 Track Team that ran in the State Track meet comprised of Michael Kelley , Jhett Slusser , Blake Craigo , and Javon Merrill .
An Executive Session was held at the request of Fred
Matthews . The Treasurer ’ s report was given and approved . The Superintendent ’ s report was given and approved for the following items :

was her favorite job . She spent over 24 years at Ohio Fabricators , taking time off on two occasions due to her husband ’ s illness . She was home for a year when her husband had his leg amputated . When his health improved , she returned to Ohio Fabricators . Later he had a stroke and was in a wheelchair for five years . All during this time she was unable to attend meetings but kept up her membership . When asked why she was paying her dues when she wasn ’ t able to go to the meetings she said because she felt it was important . After his passing she returned to Ohio Fabricators where she continued to work on a full time and a part time basis until the age of 76 . She also returned to being an active BPW member .
