Painting a horse was part of artPARK fun

Center for the Arts was at the artPARK on June 12 for the Color Our World program.
“ Every week we are looking at a saying,‘ The World Through Rose Colored Glasses’ or‘ Green Thumb,’ and this week, June 19, was‘ A Horse of a Different Color,’” she said.
Kacie Powers brought her daughter Mia.
“ This is our second year coming here to the artPARK, and she really likes it. So far this year, they have done rainbows, and they made red-tinted sunglasses for‘ Seeing the World Through Rose Colored Glasses.’ The Pomerene lady brought rose-colored film to make the lenses, and they really liked it. They still have the glasses at home,” Powers said.
Cornell said,“ For the Dog Days of Summer, we had dogs come, and we had painted dogs. Rachel Bice is a groomer, and she had the idea of painting a horse. I went through the Chamber of Commerce site, found Moving Mountains and called Emily Schmalzried. She did not bat an eye and said,‘ Oh yes,’ and so here we are. Not everyone could paint the horse, and horses are interesting to draw, so we decided to paint the horse and draw the horse. Some of the kids have done a really beautiful job.”
Bice was helping with the horse painting.“ I have never painted a horse, but I have colored dogs at different times. This is my first time painting a horse, but I enjoy it very much.”
On Thursday, July 3 at 10 a. m., they plan to decorate helmets for scooters and bicycles.
