Volunteers are needed for next phase at PCC
By Josie Sellers Beacon Editor
The Pregnancy Center of Coshocton is looking for community volunteers to assist with the next phase of remodeling its new location at 511 Walnut St.
“ Our hope for an August move-in is now dependent on volunteers helping with projects,” said Rebecca Armstrong, executive director.“ We’ ve met with the contractors to ask what we could do to save us money.”
Help is needed with cleaning drywall dust off the walls and floors and then with painting, placing drop ceiling tiles and installing flooring.
“ These projects would literally save tens of thousands,” Armstrong said.“ We’ re asking you to consider the opportunities.”
Men and women of all ages and abilities are welcome to donate their time.
The new location will take the pregnancy center from 393 square feet at its current location on Main Street to 2,140. The space was donated by the Wiley Companies, and many donations have been received to help with remodeling and furnishing it.
The new space will feature a reception area, consultation rooms, classroom and conference room space, an improved boutique space, and an ultrasound room. A nurse volunteer will do the ultrasounds and help confirm pregnancies but not diagnose any medical concerns.
For more information on helping, email Steve Mercer, project manager, at sygnmkr @ gmail. com or call / text 740-502-0033. To learn more about how you can help at the center itself, call 740-291-3557.
