Ryan and Camille McPeek, owners of the Coshocton KOA on County Road 10, want everyone to feel welcome and included at their facility.
“ Our franchiser, KOA, is leading the way in accessibility in the camping industry. We’ re excited to

be part of that,” Camille McPeek said.
In August of last year, the Coshocton County Board of DD approached the McPeeks about purchasing a pool lift and installing it at KOA.
“ One of the caseworkers is a frequent pool customer. She thought placing it at the KOA would be a great fit. We’ ve been wanting to
|
add a lift to our pool to open up accessibility for more people. We are working on reducing the accessibility barriers to enjoy the outdoors,” McPeek said.
CCBDD purchased the pool lift using ARPA funds. The lift is very easy to use and can be operated without staff assistance, but KOA staff are always available to help you or to show

you how it works.
McPeek said the pool is now offering sensory swim hours on Sunday mornings between 10 a. m. and noon. The pool doesn’ t open to the public until noon, but campers can use it. Pool staff will turn off the music to allow those with sensitive hearing or those who have difficulty being in a large crowd to enjoy the
