ARRL Field Day organized
This year the Amateur Radio Relay League Field Day Contest and Exercise will be held from 2 p . m . on June 24 to 2 p . m . on June 25 . The Coshocton County Amateur Radio Association will host local activities at Browns Farm during this time .
Field day is where radio amateurs set up radio communications stations all over the U . S . and practice making contact with each other . They test their gear and radio operating techniques . The first field day was held in 1933 to encourage amateur radio operators , also known as Hams , to practice rapid radio deployment for emergencies and to encourage emergency communication preparedness .
Hams get to enjoy certain sections of the RF bands for use in their hobby , but that was made possible by the ARRL forming and fighting for such privileges on their behalf . To show the government at that time and even today that those frequencies are being put to good use , a lot of Hams volunteer their time to pass traffic through the radio waves all over the country .

for their local Amateur Radio Emergency Service to provide communications to agencies upon request in times of need . That is what the ARRL stands for : Amateurs who volunteer ; Radio , the medium used ; Relay , passing from one radio operator to another to get the message where it needs to be ; and League , to show there are a lot out there willing and able to help .
When emergencies happen or disasters strike , they can take out key chunks of infrastructure that do not allow things like the internet and cell phones to work . When Katrina hit New Orleans , the cell phones and land lines went down , and there was no way to communicate in or out , except via amateur radio . Hams set up stations to pass traffic in and out to help the agencies that called on them . When all else fails , amateur radio can and does work to get messages out .

Operation 6:12 hosts Tim Tebow

Operation 6:12 , a faith-based rehabilitation ministry that opened a residential home in Fresno , held a fundraiser on June 4 .
The name Operation 6:12 is based on Ephesians 6:12 : “ For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies , but against evil rulers and authorities

Operation 6:12 is a Church at the Barn ministry that strives to help people through life ’ s struggles — anxiety , addiction and depression , to name a few — by equipping individuals with God ’ s word and ways . The fundraiser included activities for the family such as a bounce house for children and cornhole for adults and children . There was a buffet and popcorn and refreshments available throughout the day .
Praise and worship was provide by the worship band , 4:12 Collective . And the big draw for the evening was Tim Tebow and his wife Demi-Leigh Tebow , who were the guest speakers .
