Coshocton has lots to offer for summertime fun

Gas prices have you rethinking your vacation plans ? Don ’ t worry . There is plenty to see and do right in your own backyard .
Stop by the Coshocton County Visitor Bureau and grab a “ Three Rivers Ride Find Your Adventure ” map and brochure . The map was made for motorcyclists , but antique classic car groups love it too . It ’ s a great way to experience different parts of the county on roads that aren ’ t gravel .
“ We put things on it for groups to do , and it lets them know where to go on their drive ,” said Mindy Brems , executive director of the visitors bureau .”
One of the many unique stops marked on the map is the Gospel Hill Lighthouse .
“ If they are there , you can go in it and climb up ,” Brems said . “ It ’ s a great place to take pictures of the county , and the people there are very welcoming and nice .”
Another way to see the county is to go on the geocaching trail .
“ There are 45 caches on the Coshocton Ring Trail , and you only need so many to get your coin ,” Brems said . “ We tried to make sure people see interesting sights on it and can visit small businesses .”

Another way to spend your time in Coshocton County is to take a tour of Roscoe Village .
“ They redid their tour with video kiosks in each historical building ,” Brems said . “ The content is so well done , and you may see people you know in them . It ’ s very innovative and original .”
The tour is self-guided , and you have the whole day to experience the village .
“ You get a key fob and have from 10 a . m . to 4 p . m . to go on the tour ,” Brems said . “ This gives you the opportunity to stop to shop and eat and go at your own pace .”

Groups like the antique car club that came to Coshocton in May frequently come to explore the county and do activities , like take a ride on the canal boat . With gas prices the way they are , now is a perfect time to explore what ’ s in your own backyard .
at the Johnson Humrickhouse Museum . It is open every day from noon to 4 p . m ., and they have free admission for county residents on Sundays .
Coshocton also is a great place to enjoy the great outdoors . The visitors bureau brochure , “ Relax Recharge Unwind in Coshocton County ,” will show you lots of great ways to enjoy the sunshine . Parks , pools , golf courses , wildlife areas and more are on the brochure ’ s map , and Lake Park has its very own map , marking all its outdoor adventures .
Many special events are coming back too , and new ones are being added . A concert series is being planned for downtown , the artPARK has a variety of activities and the Saturday , June 25 Mud Run will bring people from numerous states , and that ’ s just a brief list of June events . “ A lot of people are working hard to do things to attract people here and make the community the best it can be ,” Brems said .
