June 10, 2020 New Bedford community plan New Bedford Days will be held Monday through Saturday, June 8-13 as a way for merchants to say thank you to the community. Merchant sales will be held throughout the week, and Friday and Saturday, June 12-13 will be the main days for food and fun. A benefit volleyball tournament for Paul E. Yoder and Roy Kline will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 12. There is no age limit for participants. The pony parade, sponsored by Baltic Bank, will begin at 8 a.m. and be followed by the consignment auction at 9 a.m. at New Fab on the hill behind the feed mill. There will be a benefit bake sale starting at 7 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Friday’s proceeds will benefit Vernon Weaver, and Saturday’s will go to Myron W. Yoder. This summer OSU Extension will offer virtual food-preservation office hours to answer questions on a variety of food-preservation topics. With the right information, food preservation can be safe, simple and easy to learn. Starting in June, there will be virtual programs offered every two weeks until the end of July from 4-5 p.m. These programs are free but do require registration to participate. One may register for one or more programs by visiting www.coshocton.osu. edu. Topics include canning and freezing vegetables on June 16, canning and freezing fruit on June 30, pickles on July 14, and salsa on July 28.
