Foothills Studio & Gallery
By Josie Sellers
Four local artists have
joined forces to open Foothills
Studio & Gallery in
Roscoe Village.
The new studio/gallery is
located below the General
Store and will hold its grand
opening and meet-the-artists
event from 5-7 p.m. on
Friday, June 12.
“We wanted a place to
show our work for people to
come and see that was also
a tourist location,” Carole
Hunt said. “It’s beautiful
here.”
Three of the artists were
already partners in a gallery
in Zanesville, but they
wanted the opportunity to
be closer to home. Each of
them will feature their own
style of art at the gallery.
“I do portrait art and do
commission-based work
also,” Hunt said. “I also do
soul art, which is out of my
imagination.”
Hunt has been drawing
people since she was a child
and loves capturing the
details that make them look
like who they are.
“I like highly realistic,
but I’ve been playing more
with abstract,” Hunt said.
BJ Taylor works with oil
and acrylics and is known
