Write-On Writers set to host their contest
The Coshocton Write-On Writers Guild is hosting its third summer writing contest .
Categories include poetry , short stories and personal essays ( could include COVID-19 experiences ). The word limit is 500 words , and all entries must be typed . Choose your own topic . There is a limit of two entries per person . No graphic or political entries are allowed . All should be “ G ” rated . Write-On Writers Guild members are not eligible .

Dining with Diabetes classes announced
Ohio State University Extension and the Coshocton Regional Medical Center will offer Dining with Diabetes , a cooking school and nutrition education program designed for people with diabetes and their family members or caregivers .
In a series of four classes , cooking demonstrations will help participants learn healthy techniques to use in their own kitchens . The program includes sampling healthy foods and discussion with a dietitian about skills to manage diabetes .
Dining with Diabetes will be held Thursdays , Aug . 19 , Aug . 26 , Sept . 2 and Sept . 9 from 5:30-7:30 pm . Two classes will be at Coshocton Regional Medical Center , and two classes will involve hands-on meal preparation at Roscoe United Methodist Church .
The cost of the program is $ 20 per person and includes all four classes , educational handouts and small-sized meals that feature a variety of recipes . People are encouraged to also register a support person to attend with them for an additional $ 10 .
Classes will be taught by Emily Marrison , OSU Extension educator ; Kate Shumaker , OSU Extension educator and registered dietitian ; Christine Kendle , OSU Extension educator and registered dietitian ; and Cindy Hillbish , registered dietitian with the Coshocton County Health Department .
winners will be notified . Winning entries will be posted at the Write-On Writer ’ s book fair . The book fair is scheduled for Saturday , Oct . 16 from 9 a . m . to 3 p . m . at Frontier Power ’ s community room , 770 S . Second St ., Coshocton .

David E . and Sandra S . ( Bratton ) Miller of West Lafayette , Ohio , will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 10 , 2021 while vacationing in Destin Beach , Florida . Their great adventure began on July 10 , 1971 . David is the son of the late Ralph Eugene and May Elizabeth ( Gardner ) Miller and Sandi is the daughter of the late Thomas James and Mildred Louise ( Mabe ) Bratton .

They are the proud parents of two children and seven grandchildren . Angie ( Miller ) and Brad Baldwin of Imperial , Missouri , the parents of Dalton and Dylan Baldwin . Chris and Shannon ( Rich ) Miller , the parents of Bella , Patience , Carson , Cooper and Cyrus Miller . The grands range from 6 to 17 years and are Sandi and Dave ’ s pride and joy !
Dave is a graduate of the Ridgewood Generals class of 1970 and Sandi is the graduate of the Coshocton Redskins class of 1971 . The Millers have lived in Nashville , Tennessee , O ’ Fallon , Missouri , and Lake Tillery , North Carolina while following their careers . However , all roads eventually lead home to family and friends . Dave is employed as a supervisor of Cleveland Cliffs ( formerly AK Steel ) and Sandi is employed by Home Loan Bank as a teller .
Sandi and Dave agree this has been quite the RIDE ! They plan to spend their remaining time spoiling the grandchildren and traveling with Dave pursuing his passion of day trading .
