Lee Williamson , treasurer of the River View Local School District , announced her retirement in the coming months .

In her retirement letter to the board , Williamson said , “ I would like to thank the board of education for supporting me as I served as treasurer and CFO of this great district for the past 20-plus years . I would also like to thank all the previous board members , Mr . Don Rushing , Mrs . Wanda Beck , Mrs . Caroline Gault , Mrs . Ruthie Borden , Mrs . Martha Viegel , Mrs . Viva Addy , Mr . Kyle Kanuckel , Mr . Doug Spade and Mr . Dalton Summers . All these people helped me to become the treasurer that I am today .

“ In addition , I would like to thank Mr . Rinkes for including me as part of his administrative team

over the last year . I would like to thank my staff , including past and present members , who have been a huge part of my success at River View . They have always stepped up to each new challenge . I could not have been more blessed . I really can ’ t begin to list all the people to thank because there are just too many to name individually .

“ Being the treasurer has afforded me the opportunity to work with many amazing people and to be part of a lot of changes and successes in the district and at the state level . In my heart I will always be a Black Bear . Mr . Rinkes always asks , ‘ What will your legacy be ?’ I hope that I have left a footprint that will continue and that in some small way I have made an impact at River View .”

Her resignation will be effective Jan . 31 , 2023 , or at such time as mutually agreed upon for a smooth transition of office .

“ On behalf of the administration and River View Board of Education , we want to thank Mrs . Lee Williamson for her excellent service to the district for more than 20 years ,” Superintendent Chuck Rinkes said . “ Lee is well known throughout the state for her work . In the history of River View Local School District , there have only been three treasurers . We are working with the MVESC to do a statewide search to find our next treasurer . It will be difficult to replace Lee .

The Elks Golf League played its annual midseason scramble on June 26 at Hickory Flats Golf Course .

Coming in first place at 11 under par was the team of Darin Desender ,

Mark Wolff , Darren Williamson and Rusty Richards .

Coming in at second place was the team of Tom Cox , Brent McKee , Rod Norman and Ron Mathews .
