Herb Society hosts herbal picnic
The Coshocton County Herb Society met July 21 at the home of Dr . Tammy Alverson , who hosted this month ’ s meeting .
Club members welcomed guest Meri-Lynn Hill to the meeting with 12 members in attendance . Roll call and herb report was given on the herb , comfrey , also known as knit-bone .
Members had an evening of fellowship during the annual herbal picnic with many covered dishes and herbal samplings .
A brief meeting was conducted with plans and committees set in place for the bi-annual Herb Fair to be held April 30 , 2022 , at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Coshocton . An invitation was received and accepted by the Town & Country Garden Club to attend the community outreach meeting next spring .
It was agreed an audit will be performed on Herb Society treasurer ’ s ledgers to be overseen by Marge Erman , Pam Simmons and Lori Regula .
The next meeting will be Wednesday , Aug .
18 at 7 p . m . The program will be on making pesto . Erman will call all members to confirm the meeting location and hostess . If interested in herbs and would like to learn more , call Regula at 740-545-9921 for more information and be a guest at an upcoming meeting .

The skills he learned throughout the year-long program helped Cole Moody in a variety of ways .
“ Leadership Coshocton County was an amazing experience for me ,” the member of the 2019 class said . “ I learned so much about Coshocton and its history , and it really helped my love for my hometown grow . The leadership program also helped me evolve as a leader . It gave me the confidence to be in our local Kiwanis Club and step up to be president . It helped me take on a management role at Dean ’ s Jewelry , and it helped me change my perspective on things and improve my day-to-day life . Leadership Coshocton County is excellent , and if you have the opportunity to be a part of it , do it .”
