Council members breezed through the July 26 city council meeting . Mayor Mills and council at large Michelle Turner were not at the meeting . However , council members that were present voted to pass legislation allowing the remaining money in the city ’ s home health fund to be transferred
|
to the general fund . In addition , council approved an ordinance allowing the city ’ s service director to sign the contract with the Coshocton Firefighter ’ s local 216 .
During the public input portion of the meeting Tina Dobson expressed her opinion that the city looks more beautiful this summer than it ever
|
has . She stated she read in the paper that something may get done to the Newberry building . She expressed the need for the city to have a venue big enough to have wedding receptions in that is not as expensive as the pavilion . She further stated one thing she is interested in is having a place that is big enough to have a |
quilt show in . She concluded her time encouraging council that if they are looking around for something to do , maybe they can look into a venue that will advance this county .
In addition , Robert Langston from Buena Vista Drive requested council members to take their vacation to consider repealing the aspect of jail
|
time associated with the nuisance ordinance . He stated it is extremely authoritarian and heavy handed .
Council reminds residents that council will be taking the month of August off but will be available for emergency meetings if necessary . The next city council meeting is scheduled for Sept . 13 .
