Letter to the Editor
After reading a recent Letter to the Editor , I found myself completely frustrated by the information that was given about Critical Race Theory or CRT . Furthermore , references to Jesus being the “ original CRT guy ” absolutely floored me . I would like to take a few moments to offer a few more thoughts on the matter .
CRT is so much more than a conversation about racism . It is a tool of indoctrination being used on our children that stems from Marxist Conflict Theory . My hope is anyone reading this will research this topic for themselves and not take my word on it , as I am no authority on the subject but have been researching it myself .
The definition of CRT given in the former Letter to the Editor comes from Wikipedia and is only one definition of a very complex and confusing issue . There is not enough word space here to lay out all the different definitions and sort through them . However , if you research enough , you will see words start to appear over and over like “ oppressed ” and “ oppressor ” — the overlying thought being that white people and their societal system oppress all other races .

Other terms like “ equity ” and “ inequality ” also will rise to the surface . Inequality is defined as only certain people ( usually white ) control most of the resources and the power over who gets them and how much . Equity typically refers to the “ equity of outcome ,” meaning no matter what the starting point was , we should all reach the same outcome .
“ Intersectionality ” is a term that seemingly helps categorize these differences in people : race , gender , sexual preference or identity and many other terms . The idea is if we can identify these differences , then we can just “ have a conversation about them .”
However , intersectionality is more nefariously used as a marker of how oppressed any one person is . Categories and levels of oppression are established by hierarchies : Men over Women ; White over Black , Hispanic , Indian ; Straight over LGBTQ ; and so forth and so on . So typically the more “ intersections ” one has , the more oppressed he or she
BF-46140 is — an example being a white , straight female is slightly oppressed , whereas a black , lesbian female would have three layers and therefore be more oppressed .
The previous letter referred to the term “ original sin ” as it was used in the Garden of Eden . In CRT the original sin is racism , and the original offender is white people . This is where terms like “ white guilt ” have come from . Just as people of color are naturally oppressed , white people are naturally the oppressors . These are the thought processes and undertones of CRT .
My intention in defining these things is to bring light to what CRT is really about . Again , please research these things and don ’ t stop at the first thing your favorite search engine gives you . Dig deeper .

Nancy Lee Hale , 81 , of Coshocton passed away on Thursday , July 21 , 2022 , at Signature Healthcare , where she was a longtime resident . She was born on Sept . 2 , 1940 , in Coshocton to the late James I . Hack and Audrey ( VanDusen ) Hack . She graduated in 1958 from Coshocton High School .
Nancy is survived by her granddaughter , Elizabeth Ellie Hale of Canada ; brother , James Hack of Coshocton ; and two nieces and two nephews .
She is preceded in death by her son , Michael Hale ; brother , David Hack and sister , Mary Ann Dawson .
