First Farm Friday , country concert set for Aug . 5

Do you want to see what the view looks like from a combine or get up close to some of the farm animals you see in the fields ? Then come on down to First Farm Friday . The annual event will be held Friday , Aug . 5 from 5-7 p . m . in downtown Coshocton .
“ I love see the families with kids there learning first-hand about agriculture ,” said Deb Bigelow , district administrator for the Coshocton Soil and Water Conservation District . “ I think it ’ s a unique opportunity that you don ’ t get every day .”
The goal of First Farm Friday is to educate the public about the importance of agriculture in the community and beyond . Displays will be set up this year on part of Main Street by the courthouse and on Fourth Street .

“ We had to do that this year due to the concert stage for the event afterwards on Main Street ,” Bigelow said . “ We also aren ’ t going to do the peddle maze . We couldn ’ t make it work with the space we had , but everything else will be the same . We are doing the stamp card again for kids . There will be 20 stations for kids to visit to get a stamp and earn their free cup of custard from Whit ’ s . They will have the opportunity to learn all kinds of things about agriculture that evening .”

This year ’ s First Farm Friday will be followed by the last of three events in the 2022 Coshocton Summer Concert Series on Main Street . The performer for the 8 p . m . concert will be country music artist ERNEST , who is known for his work with Morgan Wallen .
the presenters at the event volunteer their time to educate the community about Coshocton County ’ s number-one industry .
“ We couldn ’ t do this without the volunteers who come and bring their farm equipment , farm animals and displays ,” Bigelow said . “ Each year they bring new activities without us even asking to bring something different . We appreciate all of them .”
Food will be available for purchase during the event from the Real McCoy BBQ food truck , Sno Shack trailer , several 4-H clubs
and others .
“ I ’ ve been trying for years to get Real McCoy , but our schedules never coincided ,” Bigelow said . “ We are excited to have Emily ’ s food truck with us . It will be a good opportunity for her and us .”
This year ’ s First Farm Friday will be followed by the last of three events in the 2022 Coshocton Summer Concert Series on Main Street . The concert series is presented by the City of Coshocton and Our Town Coshocton with the primary sponsor being the Bechtol Fund of the Coshocton Foundation . The performer for the concert will be country music artist ERNEST , who is known for his work with Morgan Wallen . The concert will begin at 8 p . m . in front of the courthouse on Main Street . Admission is free . Bring your own chair .
