Since May 31 the boat has been making practice runs over the Mudport Basin portion of the canal , and regular passenger trips have been running since last Tuesday . Captain Robert Totsch is at the helm , and the horse team is headed by Frank Cutshall .
SUNDAY , JULY 19 , 1981 “ A Community Involved ” is the theme for this year ’ s canal festival according to Bob Bradley , chairman of the parade . The parade will be held on Aug . 15 , and those seeking to join the parade can see him at First Federal in the Downtowner Plaza . Nine area bands will be participating in this year ’ s parade including CHS , River View and Ridgewood ’ s . Additionally , Bradley announced that Miss Ohio Kathleen Ann Vernon will be joining the parade . Crowned in June last year , she is a native of Youngstown and a graduate of Indiana State University .
WEDNESDAY , JULY 17 , 1991 Music and memorabilia will fill Roscoe this weekend . The 10th annual Americana Festival will see a classic car show , an antique bicycle exhibit and more folk and country performances than you can shake a stick at come to the village . Amongst the acts are Northwest Territory , Ed Cherry , Rosalie Paige , the Walhonding Rube Band and the Vinings .
SUNDAY , JULY 15 , 2001 “ It was a way to get the older players together with the younger players ,” said Ben Tufford . Tufford is one of the organizers for the Coshocton Cherokee Alumni Day , which took place yesterday . The first of hopefully many to come , the day brought together former teammates and pitted them against the current team . The alumnus won 12-2 , and then for the next game team leaders Michael Dunlap and Chad Marlatt each got to mix-and-match their teams . Team Dunlap won game two 6-5 .
WEDNESDAY , JULY 20 , 2011 Sue Hardesty was named executive director for Habitat for Humanity of Coshocton . She was amongst 33 potential candidates chosen by the board of directors . Sue has quite a history with the organization serving in a number of different capacities . She also was responsible for starting the Habitat ReStore facility .
