More public restrooms and water sources are needed
Letter to the Editor,
Walking has quickly become one of my favorite forms of exercise. I have walked the McWane River Walk from Coshocton Inn & Suites through Lake Park and down to the Dollar Tree. The path has been a fantastic instillation to our town, providing not only a safe place for outdoor hobby enthusiasts, but also gorgeous views of the river.
In addition to the walking paths, I have walked almost everywhere in between. During my walks I have come to realize how blessed I am to live in the city of Coshocton. We have an abundance

of rich history with several historic landmarks such as Lichtenau and Porteous Mound. We have many residents with enviable“ green thumbs” whose flowers I most especially enjoy looking at. The people are kind, the sunsets are sublime and all-in-all I couldn’ t ask for a better place to regularly get my steps in at.
However, with everything in life, you must take the good with the bad. It is of no secret many of our sidewalks are hard to navigate— with some areas lacking

Park your car and walk over to the designated event area to drop off your supply. If you are unable to get out of your vehicle, call the health district at 740-622-1426 and someone will be out to assist you.

Many stores on Main Street have a sign on their door declaring one must be a consumer to use their restroom or simply stating no public restrooms in large print. While I have had luck with a kind

It is understandable why many businesses are now closing off their restrooms to the public. With the drug epidemic and some people lacking common courtesy, I don’ t blame them. However, when nature calls, those who choose to enjoy our outdoor amenities ought to have safe, clean facilities at their disposal. Coshocton does provide a few public restrooms including Porta Potties, but with often over a mile in between them and only

As far as public drinking fountains are concerned, I know of none within our city. Access to clean drinking water, especially during the summer months, could quite possibly save lives.
With Coshocton allocating funds toward many projects to beautify the city and encourage business and tourism, these vital necessities can be overlooked, but they would not go unnoticed by those who need them.
