In West Lafayette, organizers with the historical society and museum are getting closer to its reopening.

Volunteers are cleaning and reorganizing to welcome visitors to the space. Jack

Patterson said there will be some new exhibits, like one

featuring enamel artifacts including cookware, advertising pieces, and other colorful enamel items once used in homes and local businesses around West Lafayette. They also are planning to remember the troop train wreck that occurred in 1950.

Christi Patterson said to keep on the lookout for the grand opening and for days of operation to center around pinnacle and or annual events in town. The museum team hopes the new exhibits will help the community connect with the stories and everyday items that helped shape West Lafayette.

Submitted July 9 marked the start of a transformational project for Skip’ s Landing thanks to a $ 6.7 million grant from the Governor’ s Office of Appalachia and the Ohio Department of Development.

Submitted The once-empty area of 1A will soon be home to: A modern roundabout to improve traffic flow; two covered farmers market pavilions; a state-of-the-art playground and outdoor fitness area; and a beautiful wildflower field for all to enjoy.
