Carol A . Gable
Carol A . Gable , 79 , a former longtime resident of Warsaw , passed away on Friday , Jan . 1 , 2020 at Genesis Hospital . She was born May 29 , 1941 in Cambridge . She was the daughter of Donald and Wilma ( Bishard ) McFarland .
Carol married her husband of 59 years , H . Thomas Gable , in 1962 . Together they had four children . Tom and Carol traveled frequently , including to many Cleveland Indians games as they were involved with the “ Heavy Hitters .” They also operated the Mary Harris Bed and Breakfast together for many years . Carol was a retired school teacher who taught English and Speech for over 30 years , including one year at John Glenn , and 29 years at River View High School . She was also a long time member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Coshocton , and loved music , art , reading , and dancing .
Surviving are her husband , Tom , her children , Cheryl Ogle , Beth Foster , Cindy Beache , and Brian Gable ; her grandchildren , Michael , Dylan , Jeff , Courtney , Kathryn , Tristan , Birdie , Tyler , Rachel , Emilee , Jaret , and Aiden ; six greatgrandchildren ; and her sister-in-law , Karen McFarland .
She was preceded in death by her parents , and her brother , Scott McFarland .
Due to COVID-19 restrictions , a private funeral service will take place for the immediate family . It will be available to watch as a live stream on her obituary page , and a Celebration of Life is planned for a later date at the church . Opal M . Fisher , 94 , of Coshocton passed away Sunday , Dec . 27 , 2020 at her home . She was born in Coshocton , Ohio on June 28 , 1926 to the late Francis and Fern ( Tarman ) Clark .
Opal graduated from Coshocton High School in 1946 and worked as a cook at the Coshocton VFW 2040 . She was a member of the Coshocton Christian Assembly and the VFW . She was known for many years as the “ Pie Lady ,” she loved baking pies and people loved eating them .
Opal is survived by her daughters Sue Tumblin of Coshocton and Tammy Slatter of Florida ; sons Steve ( Jeanie ) Casey of Coshocton and James Fisher of Florida ; brother Robert Clark ; sister Norma Ruby ; and several grandchildren , great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren .
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband , Dale Fisher ; granddaughter Angie Bible ; great-granddaughter ; great-grandson Oliver ; brothers Francis “ JR ” and Harold “ Whitie ” Clark ; sister Delores “ Pinky ” Cox ; and son-in-law Greg Tumblin .

George E . Hartley , 71 , passed away on Jan . 1 , 2021 at his home . He was born on Feb . 21 , 1949 in Pocatalico , WV to the late Upton and Flossie Hartley . He worked at Smurfit-Stone Container for 30 years and owned his own business , Star Security Services .
He is survived by his children , Adam ( Christine ) Hartley and Evet ( Chris ) Stotts ; grandchildren , Dylan Hartsock , Colton Stotts and Shane Horstman as well as brother , John Hartley . George was a loving father and grandfather .
Along with his parents , he is preceded in death by his brother , Bill Pettit .

Mary D . Ellis , 77 , of Coshocton , passed away at Coshocton Regional Medical Center on Tuesday , Dec . 29 , 2020 . Mary was born in Coshocton , Ohio on July 30 , 1943 to the late Selbourne A . and Catherine M . ( Hall ) Simmons . She graduated from Coshocton High School in 1961 and worked at Pretty Products in Coshocton for 32 years before retiring in 2006 . Mary loved to shop , was an avid animal lover , and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren .
Mary is survived by her grandchildren , Amber ( John ) Albert , Tanner ( Katey ) Eaton , Trista ( Jered ) Shumaker all of Coshocton ; Angel ( Michael Reynolds ) Mahan and Kara ( Brandon Abram ) Mahan of Uhrichsville , OH and Chris ( April Poisson ) Mahan of Akron , OH ; great-grandchildren , Devin ( Jasmine McCombs ) Albert , Bradyn Albert , Jacey Albert , Tucker and Corbin Shumaker , all of Coshocton , Addalynn , Asireanna , Skyler and Wyatt Reynolds , all of Uhrichsville , OH ; great-great-granddaughter , Isabella Albert of Coshocton ; two brothers , Harry Simmons of Cleveland and Joe ( Pam ) Simmons of Coshocton ; and

Jean Grove died Dec . 25 , 2020 at her home in De Pere , Wisconsin , as a result of Covid 19 and underlying malignancy .
Jean was born on Aug . 1 , 1941 , to Robert and Hazel ( Patterson ) Finlay in Coshocton , Ohio . She graduated from Warsaw High School in Warsaw , Ohio and earned a BS degree in elementary education from Ohio State University . From 1963-65 she taught in the Gahanna , Ohio schools . She was a teacher at Hillcrest Elementary School in Brookings , South Dakota from 1980 until her retirement in 2001 .
On Sept . 9 , 1962 , she married John A . Grove in Coshocton , Ohio . In addition to her husband , she is survived by her daughter , Karla ( Steven ) Schmidt of De Pere , Wisconsin , her son , Alan ( Elise )

Along with her parents , she is preceded in death by her daughter , Terri S . Eaton and son , Toby T . Mahan ; her sisters , Sis Simmons , Irma Winlad and Kink Butler ; and brothers , James , Raymond and Selbourne A . ( Buzz ) Simmons .
