Emergency HEAP Winter Crisis Program continues

The Kno-Ho-Co-Ashland Community Action Commission ’ s Emergency HEAP Winter Crisis Program continues to help those in need of home heating assistance .
The Winter Crisis Program is a federally funded program administered by the Ohio Development Services Agency Office of Community Assistance and provides financial assistance to low-income households that are threatened with disconnection from their heating source or have already had service disconnected . Households serviced by a PUCO-regulated utility are encouraged to sign up for the Percentage of Income Payment Plus Plan or an alternate budgetpayment plan .
Eligible households include those in disconnect status or notice of disconnection or those transferring or establishing new service . Households utilizing bulk fuel must have a tank containing less than 25 % of its capacity . Income documentation for all household members , Social Security numbers , electric and gas bills , proof of U . S . citizenship / legal residency for all household members , proof of disability if disabled , and other documentation must be presented .
Income guidelines are based at 175 % of the Federal Poverty Level . For a household of one person , annual income must fall at or below $ 25,515 . Household of two is $ 34,510 , family of three is $ 43,505 and family of four must be at or below $ 52,500 . Income also may be calculated using the past 30 days , which for a single household is $ 2,097.12 . Approved applicants also will have their application automatically

Family paint night planned at museum

The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum announced family paint night is back . There will be two times to choose from on Sunday , Feb . 18 from 1-3 p . m . This art class is geared toward children age 6 and older and their guardians . Each person will paint their own 16-by-20-inch stretched canvas using acrylic paints . All materials needed to complete the activity will be provided .
The cost for paint night is $ 10 for each adult and $ 6 for each child . A special discount code for $ 3 off your total purchase will be included in the first-quarter newsletter . You can sign up to receive the museum ’ s newsletter at www . jhmuseum . org / newsletter .

The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is located at 300 N . Whitewoman St . in Coshocton . Support for this program has been provided by The Ohio Arts Council , which helped fund this event with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth , educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans .

Rotary fundraiser breaks all-time record

The Coshocton Rotary Club ’ s 12 Days of Christmas fundraiser broke the all-time record , with a total raised of $ 25,180 . This is an all-time high in over 20 years of the club ’ s conducting the project .
Rotary members sold tickets for 12 daily drawings , with prizes donated by local businesses , industries , organizations and local individuals . Club members donated an additional $ 100 cash to accompany the daily prizes .
Angie Taylor won the grand prize , drawn on the final day , of $ 3,200 in cash , which was donated by club members . Barb Emmons sold the winning ticket to Taylor .

“ It ’ s important to acknowledge these donors , as it means that all of the money raised can go back into Rotary community projects ,” said Cecilia Balogh , club president .
This year ’ s leadership team for the 12 Days of Christmas project included Bruce Wallace , Cecilia Balogh , Casey Claxon , Shelly Lillibridge , Stephanie Conn and Jennifer Bush .
The Coshocton Rotary Club was established in 1918 and has been active in numerous community service projects including parks , court square , fairgrounds , schools , youth programs and numerous other projects . processed for the Regular HEAP program , where additional assistance may be available .
Eligible households may receive financial assistance once per heating season . The HEAP heating season will run through March 31 . The benefit amounts are as follows : PUCO-regulated gas or electric customers may receive a benefit of up to $ 175 . Nonregulated electric or gas such as coops may receive a benefit amount up to $ 750 . Incomeeligible bulk fuel customers may receive up to $ 650 for wood or coal , and up to $ 1,200 is available for bulk fuel propane / bottled gas and fuel oil consumers . Assistance for furnace repair also is available up to $ 1,500 .
