Douglas James Clark , Jr passed away at age 76 in Huntington Beach , California , on Thursday , January 25 , 2024 , after a long battle with cancer . He will be missed by all who knew him .
Doug was the firstborn son of Elizabeth ( O ’ Brien ) and Douglas Clark and was quickly followed in 22 minutes by his twin brother , Donald . It was a warm spring day in Meriden , Connecticut , on March 23 , 1947 . Doug always liked being the oldest . Doug and Don were not identical ; Doug always said his cheeks were pudgier … but many would argue they were identical . They enjoyed fooling people , teachers , friends , and sports opponents and were always successful .
The family moved to Michigan early on , and later , General Electric brought his father to Coshocton in 1961 . Doug and Don introduced two new sports to Coshocton :
Brenda Sue Hogue , 62 , of Coshocton passed away Sunday February 18 , 2024 , at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus .
Brenda was born in Bakersville on June 29 , 1961 , to the late Dale A . Wilson and Wanda K . ( Randles ) Karns .
She graduated from Ridgewood High School class of 1979 . Brenda also graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1993 from MATC for Medical Assisting , again from Zane State in 1999 for Physical Therapy Assisting , and later in 2005 from Muskingum University with her BA in Special Education and finally , she earned her master ’ s degree in education from Kent State University . Brenda loved working with children with disabilities and was a thirteen-year employee at Ida Sue School of Wooster , Ohio . Brenda was active in the community as
soccer and ice hockey . They became members of Trinity Episcopal Church , where Doug and Don were acolytes many Sundays . His family became prominent members of the Coshocton community .
Doug and Don graduated from Coshocton High School in 1965 and obtained their undergraduate degrees from Ohio University . Doug went on to receive his graduate degree from The American University . During Doug and Don ’ s time at OU , they played soccer , and Doug was named “ Bobcat of the Week ” for his ability to score several goals . The competition and coaches said they were “ Seeing Double ,” since Don scored as well , they were unsure who was doing what on the field .
Following graduation from OU , Doug and Don volunteered for service in the United States Army as second lieutenants , serving their country from 1965
a 55-year Grange member , and dedicated member of the Coshocton Christian Tabernacle Church where she taught Sunday school and VBS , she loved all the children of the church .
Brenda is survived by her children Kevin Hogue of Coshocton , Kendra Hogue of Indianapolis , IN , to 1968 . The family was committed to the service of their Country . Later on , David , Doug ’ s younger brother , also volunteered as a Naval officer . Douglas Sr , their father , a Naval Lieutenant Commander during WWII , who was present during the Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor , was indeed proud . Doug was assigned

to the DMZ in Korea , and Don to Vietnam . Doug was promoted to Captain during his service and served in various armor and air cavalry units .
After his military service , Doug worked as an operations and development manager for various multinational corporations , including General Motors . He focused on helping companies operate efficiently and achieve high levels of consumer satisfaction . As a resident of Rochester Hills , Michigan , for 43 years , he coached youth soccer and the Olympic Development Program . He was a member of Christ Church Cranbrook Bloomfield Hills , Michigan .
The Clark Family had tragedy strike twice . First was the death of Doug ’ s beloved brother , Don , in June 1983 from a heart attack . Then again when , his younger brother David passed away in February 2006 after a hard-fought battle with heart disease .

David was also a twin with his sister , Deidre , born in 1958 . David was also a nuclear-trained Naval officer . Doug helped Deidre cope with losing “ the other half of themselves .”
Doug enjoyed golf , watching professional hockey , baseball games ( U of Michigan , the Majors , and Little League ), bird watching , reading , the stock market , and politics . Doug took significant pride in his annual garden and caring for his home landscape . Most of all , Doug loved spending time with his grandchildren . He would creatively make up fun games , and the kids would laugh and laugh . It brought him such joy reading , playing , and being with his grandchildren . All this being said , his life ’ s focus was his two daughters , DeAnna and Jaclyn . He planned his life around them and their well-being .
During retirement , Doug became the Commission Chair of the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission . A quote from Doug that represents his ability to lead , “ The Republicans aren ’ t forcing anything Republican . The Democrats aren ’ t forcing anything , Democrat . We ’ re all just trying to work together to get these maps drawn in a nonpartisan way .”
He was preceded in death by his twin brother Don , his younger brother David , both parents , and a granddaughter Luciella Bandemer , to whom he will be laid to rest beside at Christ Church Cranbrook Bloomfield Hills , Michigan .
He is survived by his two daughters , DeAnna Morris ( Randy ) of Prosper , Texas , and Jaclyn Wynn ( Jason ) of Huntington Beach , California ; his grandchildren Clark Bandemer , Cameron Wynn , and Connor Wynn ; and his sister , Deidre Casey ; nieces Elizabeth Hagen and Shannon Casey .
and Kyle Hogue of Coshocton ; her beloved six grandchildren , David , Christian , Rubianna , Brentlee , Kenlee , and Aiden ; one sister Debra K . Chapman of Newcomerstown ; brother Dale Wilson Jr . of New Philadelphia ; stepmother Jean Wilson of Pembroke , GA ; and two step siblings Kathie Steinberger and Josh Howell .
Friends were able to call at The Miller Funeral Home , 639 Main St ., Coshocton , Ohio on Sunday February 25 , 2024 , from 2:00 PM-5:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday . Funeral services for Brenda were at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 PM with Pastor Amery Brenly officiating . Interment followed in Canal Lewisville Cemetery .
