Bench dedicated at RVIS

A bench was dedicated at River View Intermediate School in memory of Van Smailes , staff member Mrs . Smailes ’ late husband . Van and Jandi met as students at RVIS when it was known as River View Junior High School and were together from then on . The bench was purchased and customized with donations from the RVIS staff and Building Our Bears After School Program in memory of Van and as a gift for Jandi .

At Coshocton Christian School , students begin playing the recorder in fourth grade . The recorders help in their understanding of notes on the music staff and the different types of notes including quarter , half and whole notes . Learning to play the recorder is beneficial in helping them to be able to read music as well . Kelly Treat is teaching music at CCS for the second year . The ultimate goal of the music program at CCS is the students will develop a love of music and use their musical talents and abilities to worship the Lord .
