COTC announces internship in Idaho Peace officer
Central Ohio Technical
College announced the cre-
ation of an internship oppor-
tunity for current students
and recent alumni. Scott
Montgomery, a friend of the
college and founder of the
firm, CrankTank, is invit-
ing applications for a three-
month, paid summer intern-
ship in Ketchum, Idaho from
May 18 to Aug. 7.
During this internship
students will work on a vari-
ety of marketing, digital
media and business-related
projects. In addition to real-
world work exposure, stu-
dents will receive training
on several valuable indus-
try-standard software tools
that will give them a com-
petitive edge in the future.
This internship is open
to current COTC students
who have completed at least
30 credit hours of course-
work and to COTC alumni
who have graduated within
the last five years. Digital
media design and business
majors may be particularly
well suited for the intern-
ship, but all students and
alumni with the appropriate
background are welcome to
apply.
The ideal candidate will
be a hardworking individual
who is capable of success-
fully balancing many proj-
ects at once. The candidate
also should have at least a
basic understanding of busi-
ness operations — sales,
marketing and advertising
— and digital media knowl-
edge including websites,
social media and e-com-
merce.
Applicants should have
strong written and verbal
communication skills, as
well as st rong essent ial
skills such as teamwork,
integrity, professionalism,
creativity and timeliness.

Interns will earn $10 per
hour on the job while com-
pleting work directed by
the internship supervisor or
other staff at CrankTank.
All details will be arranged
between Cran kTan k and
the selected intern prior to
traveling.

deadline for applications is
Friday, March 20 at 5 p.m.
Application materials will
be reviewed by a committee
of COTC faculty and staff,
and successful candidates
will be invited for inter-
views with the committee
and members of the Crank-
Tank team. The selected
intern will be notified by
Friday, April 17.

cover letter, resume, unoffi-
cial transcripts and contact
information for a faculty/
staff/professional reference.
Applicants also must com-
plete an online application
featuring several open-end-
ed questions.

peace officer in Ohio. The
next Peace Officer Basic
Training will begin May
11 and run until Oct. 9 at
COTC’s Newark campus.
Classes are typically held
Monday through Friday
from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

interested in applying to
the program. Information
sessions will be held in
Hopewell Hall, room 53,
on the following dates:
Monday, March 2 at 10
a.m.; Thursday, March 5
at 2 p.m.; and Wednesday,
March 18 at 2 p.m.

on the state certification
