10 • The Beacon February 26, 2020 Joseph Edward Gallagher Joseph Edward Gallagh- er, 83 of Coshocton, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, in Columbus. He was born Feb. 23, 1936, to the late Charles Edward and Lean (G reenwood) Gal- lagher. Joe worked for Coshocton County Memory Gardens for many years. He loved spending time with his dog Cutie and his cat Tommy. Joe is sur vived by his stepson, Harold West; sis- ters, Freda Holsclaw, Janice Reigle and Goldie Heck; brother, Sherman (Shirley) Gallagher (all of Coshoc- ton); a nd several au nts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Gallagher, and one step-nephew. Calling hours will be held Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, from noon to 1 p.m. at Giv- en-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home with a graveside ser- vice starting at 1:30 p.m. at South Lawn Cemetery. Althea Pearl Griffith Althea Pearl Gr iff ith, 72, bor n Dec. 6, 1947, to James R. and Thelma “Sis” (Freetage) Griffith, peace- fully passed away on Feb. 6, 2020, at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. Althea was blessed to have loving people in her life. She was the pride and joy of her devoted parents who loved her dearly. They relished the simple joys a road trip for McDonald’s coffee provided. She was also blessed by the constant care provided by the dedicated staff of Cam- bridge Developmental Cen- ter, where they treated her as family. As one caregiver said, “There is a little less love in our world today now that Althea is gone.” A memorial service for Althea will be held at Giv- en-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Armstrong officiating. Submitted Althea Pearl Griffith Guy Edward Dugan Guy Edward Dugan, age 77 of Bladensburg, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Mount Vernon surround- ed by his family. He was born on March 23, 1942, near Frazeysburg to the late Layrd V. and Harriet Marie (Lingafelter) Dugan. Guy was a member of the Perry Chapel Baptist Church and a life benefac- tor member of the NRA, the Ohio Oil and Gas Associa- tion, and the Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555. Guy began working in the oil patch in 1960, form- ing Dugan Dr illing Inc. in 1980 and later in 2006 started Dugan Oil and Gas LLC. He was an avid deer hunter, and he enjoyed trap shooting. In his spare time, he could be found working on the family farm. Guy’s greatest passion in life was spending time with Submitted Guy Edward Dugan his family. He never met a stranger, and he earned the nickname, “Oil Can Harry.” Guy is su r vived by his wife, Linda D. (Ogle) Dugan, whom he married on Aug. 11, 1963; daughter, Stephanie (Bret) Warner of Bladensburg; son, Bar r y (Brenda) Dugan of Bladens- burg; grandchildren, Evan (Sonia) Dugan of Bladens- burg, Kyle (Melisha) War- ner of Saint Louisville and Austin (Bria) War ner of Gambier; great-grandchil- dren, Roselie Dugan, Kasen Warner, Madison Warner, Owen Warner and Collynns Warner; two step-grand- daughters, five step-great- grandchildren and two step- great-great-grandchildren; sister, Esther (Larry) Houck of Utica; brother, James (Gwen) Dugan of Bladens- burg; sister-in-law, Kelly D uga n of Bla de n sbu rg; u ncle, LaVer ne (Marge) Dugan of Newburg, Indi- ana; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Guy was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Wyatt Dugan, and a brother, John Dugan.
