WEST LAFAYETTE – Ridgewood High School ’ s head baseball coach was recently honored for his contributions to his college program .
Chad Lahna was one of seven Walsh University alumni who were inducted into the 34th class of the school ’ s athletic wall of fame on Jan . 27 .

Ridgewood ’ s Lahna inducted into Walsh ’ s hall of fame
and excelled in the classroom and on the field ,” Lahna said .
He graduated from Ridgewood High School in 2000 and played baseball for three years at Walsh where he saw action in the outfield and on the mound .
“ I had some success in high school and was fortunate to be able to go on and play in college in a comfortable situation and get a good education at the same time ,” Lahna said .
According to Walsh ’ s website , he had a 113 career RBI , sixth-most in program
history , was named AMC North Player of the Year his senior year and was an All- AMC First Team selection after hitting . 339 with nine home runs , 58 RBI , 58 runs scored , 10 doubles , three triples , and recording a 1.02 ERA pitching . Lahna also was honored for his academics by being named an AMC Scholar Athlete and was selected as the Walsh Male Athlete of the Year . He is second in school history for RBI in a single season with 58 , is tied for third in runs for a single season with 58 , and is second on the all-time

None of this would have been possible without his family ’ s support and the coaches he ’ s had over the years .
“ The award may have my name on it , but I ’ ve always said I ’ m nothing without my coaches , my family , my teammates and my friends . A lot of people played a part in this .”
